What do you like so much about Fist of the North-Star?
Manly Men doing Manly things. The antithesis of modern beta shit.
On a more serious analysis, it hits a lot of notes that make a series intriguing. For example, very few characters have any sort of plot armour, with most characters dying within the story arc they appear, highly different from the typical plot armour of Shonen. The world, whilst indistinct in it's different areas, is an interesting one to view due to the bleak post-apocalyptic aspect of it. On top of this, the fighting mechanics of most martial arts styles makes it slightly less of power being the only factor in battle as what happened with DB, with things such as skill and mindset playing equal precedence. The characters, whilst not all highly developed, all fulfill their use to the plot well enough, with many of them being connected to several others. That's not to say that none of the characters are outstanding, as Rei was well developed, Raoh had some subversion to his portrayal as the villain and some foreshadowing for this and Jagi's manipulations on characters such as Shin giving him a great role as a puppeteer of events. It also helps that with all characters, their motivations have clear and concise motives and ambitions, rather than just being rewritten for the plot, which is more than can be said for most series out there.
All this only applies for Part 1. The 2nd part of the manga and 2nd series of the anime retcon and cheapen so much of the plot it's almost as bad as Part 2 of Naruto and is best off ignored.
Maybe if Shimabukuro were a time traveller.
