OT as there was far more weight behind them story-wise and very few moves could be considered a waste of effort, unlike the prequel's acrobatics that have little tension when knowing who'll survive and the prequel only characters barely being fleshed out at all.

I would've preferred they be part of the Separatist army like in the BI scenario, since having two expendable armies was extremely uninteresting, but I commend what The Clone Wars did with them by helping show individual personalities and development between several of the Clones that allowed more insight into a Clone's mindset and existentialism.

Do you think Return of the Jedi would've been better if it ended as originally scripted? You know, the version where Han dies on Endor and Luke walks away.

In some ways. Han dying at Carkoon would've been better due to it providing some actual worth to the Jabba storyline in terms of the bigger picture, plus it would mean we don't need the sudden reveal of Luke and Leia's sibling connection to make the previous two films awkward (or at least just remove the "somehow I've always known" line). Not so keen at Luke walking away, since it seems pretty out of character compared to his previous actions.

He wasn't supposed to die on Carkoon though, he was going to die on the Endor Battle. I agree about Luke leaving though, it seems rather out of character for him to leave when he's the same guy who left Yoda behind to save his friends.

And what about the other alternative ending where Luke puts into Vader helmet after Anakin dies and turns into the new Vader?

And do you think the movie would've been better if the final battle took place at Kashyyyk instead of Endor? You know, with Wookies instead of Ewoks.

I know. I simply find him dying at Carkoon far more appropriate than at Endor. Endor works better from a narrative perspective as raising the stakes for the finale, but the part with Jabba was way too much of a flawed, elaborate plan to have only Han's return make it worth it taking up so much time in the film.

Luke becoming Vader would've been completely nonsensical and ruined the film, seeing as how it betrays everything his character arc in this film was going for in regard to saving his father all for the sake of an edgy plot twist.

As for Kashyyyk, that's quite a mixed bag. The imperial troops being beaten by Wookiees in combat would make more sense due to their physical strength if getting in close and the power of the bowcaster. However, Endor was a far better suited environment for setting up guerrilla tactics due to how easily it was to hide traps in the densely forested area, whereas Kashyyyk's natural qualities would be limited to purely relying on the high ground for victory. Overall, I'd say Endor was a better choice if we couldn't change the environment of Kashyyyk, as it's inhabitants facing the Empire would've been far less limited than a world that was under severe imperial occupation for years.

Battle of Hoth since it had good battle choreography and ideas with the AT-AT segment, as well as being interesting in how unlike the rest, the winner was debatable. The Empire managed to drive the rebels from their base, but you could argue the Rebels succeeded in a strategic sense as their goal was to retreat whilst the Empire's was to annihilate them.

Who's the runner up between Battle of Yavin and Battle of Endor?

And with Battle from the prequels you liked the most? Battle of Naboo, Geonosis or Coruscant?

Battle of Endor due to the emphasis on field tactics rather than just Force induced plot armour. If we're talking about Endor's space battle, it still wins due to there being still more of a strategy than just "run down a trench and hope for luck," plus the Empire employed some decent tactics with it's infamous trap.

Battle of Geonosis wins the prequel contest due to the other two's tactics and consistency respectively being pretty bad. Naboo was completely dumb as far as the ground assault goes due to the Gungans having the opportunity to decide where the battle was fought and have the enemies take the high ground, not to mention just being cannon fodder. The space battle wasn't much better due to Anakin's plot armouring. Battle of Coruscant was better, but did a poor job at displaying Anakin as the "best star pilot in the Galaxy" that OT Obi-Wan hailed him as.

Saiyans are the only relevant main race nowadays, so it would seem like that's the ideal answer if you want to accomplish anything major. However, I'd say Majin due to their vast array of creative techniques for all kinds of scenarios.
