Not yet, though maybe there's a chance if I'm walking in the woods in winter with them :king.

Very contrived and convenient, particularly for a series as well written as Breaking Bad. It'd be understandable if the cousins were portrayed as thinking with emotions first, but that's the opposite of their cool-headed and efficient characterisation up until that point.
Still, it's far from the biggest problem in the show, that being Walt acting out of character in Season 5 and leaving damning evidence in his bathroom :facepalm.

Beware with the spoilers CC, I just saw the Cousins vs Hank stuff in mid Season 3 :CC

Surprisingly, I've asked plenty of people and it's almost unanimously agreed Season 5 is a masterpiece. Gonna be interested in seeing your thoughts once I finish the show.

And since I'm watching crime shows, might as well check the Sopranos since you think it's a 10/10. Would have to find a site to watch it though...
And talking about watching series, I might check those two Star Wars-esque animes after Sopranos too. They're definitely higher than Shingeki no Kyojin on my watchlist :troll

Thought you already had, so sorry about that. Good thing I didn't go into details on what it is :troll.

Without spoiling anything, Season 5 is the most inconsistent one of the series. It has the greatest highs of the series (its 16th episode being the undisputed best of the series), but also has the biggest low points too with a pretty significant plot hole/character induced stupidity and it contradicting some of the themes previously established.

Considering what potential SnK had for newcomers went up in smoke with its ending, that's for the best :alex2 .

Gundam is Star Wars-esque mainly in some visuals such as the beam sabers and the democracy vs autocracy aspects of the original series (though, despite being inspired by the original Star Wars film, the conflict surprisingly has more similarities to the prequels' depiction of the Clone Wars). Zeta Gundam is also a good case study of what the sequels conflict started by TFA should've and could've been with the proper set up. Legend of the Galactic Heroes is basically what happens when you take the more realistic hard sci-fi route to Gundam with a greater focus on politics and strategy.

The use of flashbacks is commonly despised in fiction due to their overuse, being painfully long for some and feeling unnecessary on quite a few occasions. I'd personally settle for using them sparingly, and at least at times that would allude to the feelings of the character in the present rather than an exposition tool. But what would your personal solution?

Like with a lot of tropes, it's a case by case basis. In some cases, long flashbacks can be excused if focused on thoroughly exploring characters or in stories that start in media raes. The Golden Age Arc of Berserk is gold in more than name for this with it essentially being an incredibly long flashback/prequel with it masterfully exploring its central characters and foreshadowing many later events as well as being an excellent story all on its own. However, this type of storytelling is very risky as such long flashbacks require interesting and fleshed out characters to work. In cases where an author isn't confident in exploring characters' history through a long story arc, something more akin to how George R.R. Martin uses flashbacks in A Song of Ice and Fire is preferable with each one being short and concise enough to be easy to digest and build a coherent character history when pieced together.
For more general flashbacks, an important aspect is to use them more for characterisation than the stimulus of character development. It's fine to show how past events impacted a character's outlook, but it's cheap and overly simplistic if used to portray a defining event as the root cause for their personality. One Piece is a series that abuses this aspect to the point it gets stale fast with how each of the Straw Hats' flashbacks boil their character traits down to one traumatic event and the flashbacks in general tend to make it too obvious if a character will join the crew. Meanwhile, something such as the Trust and Betrayal arc of Rurouni Kenshin does this well as, despite boiling down Kenshin's outlook to one tragic event, it works well due his three-dimensional characterisation within the main story as well as showing a gradual change over him rather than it causing him to pull a 180.
Perhaps the worst way a flashback can be used is to cheaply flesh out a character just before their death that had little time to be explored prior. Something like Bleach is heavily guilty of this (mainly due to how lacking in characterisation its cast is) with things such as Tosen or Gin's motivations being quickly infodumped through a flashback before their deaths. If a character is explored well before their death, however, having a flashback end their arc isn't so bad. For instance, Pakunoda from Hunter X Hunter is explored well enough that her death occurring not long after a short flashback of the Troupe's beginnings was well done. A less conventional case would be with Shin from Hokuto no Ken. He initially seems like a one-dimensional villain whose given some sympathy points through a flashback before his death, yet it works as not only does the flashback line up with his motivations, but later character reveals and flashbacks allow for him to have a coherent character arc that's told in reverse order of the norm.

Tl;dr, as long as the creator has a good enough grasp on the character and how much of a display of past events is necessary, they can allow for the flashback to feel necessary.

I have a lot of physical media when it comes to dvds or manga, though I don't collect as much as I used to. When having more money to spend on them, however, I do plan on collecting all of the volumes for both Berserk and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, as well as maybe Fist of the North Star when Viz starts releasing it in English.

Does your cousin still have your PS4? Aside from The Last of Us, are you interested in trying out a Playstation exclusive?

Probably still Askeladd, even though Thorfinn has gained great development after the Prologue Arc. The way in which Askeladd can be seamlessly propped up as the hero of his own story despite also committing many atrocities not only makes him morally complex, but the way in which he acts as a motivation for revenge for Thorfinn as well as a mentor figure prevents him from falling squarely into just one archetype and allows him to be one of the most interesting and well realised characters in the medium, easily one of the best antagonists in anime/manga.

I've got my PS4 at my house, though I've been focusing purely on Xbox for a while due to the massive benefits Game Pass has over its Playstation equivalent.
As far as PS exclusives go, I'm also interested in playing Ghosts of Tsushima at some point, as well as the Spider-Man PS4 game.

Understandable.

Oh, I can definitely vouch for both games. Particularly Spider-Man PS4, which is probably the best Spider-Man game to date.

What's an anime or manga that you consider to be the most overrated?

Outside of Pokémon, have you played much Nintendo?

Hard to choose just one to class as the most overrated, but if I were put on the spot, I'd say My Hero Academia. So many praise it for doing absolutely nothing unique or better than anything else within the Battle Shonen sub-demographic or superhero genre to the point that, even considering how many poorly written series get eaten up by the mainstream, it's hard to see what people would have to praise about it unless having such a selective memory they basically forget any other series within the Shonen demographic that came before it.

Not really. Outside the Pokemon games, the most I've done is having played the Mario and Sonic Olympic Games game for Wii and having played one of the Smash games a friend of mine had once.

Mario and Sonic is really good. Were you team Mario or Sonic?

I only played it a few times over 10 years ago, so I honestly can't remember. I was probably Team Sanic due to finding him cooler at the time and being more familiar with him from having watched some of the series as a kid such as Sonic Underground.

Would you rather bang Robotnik or Wario?

Robotnik's got that big brain tech to mooch off of and is played by Jim Carrey in one form whereas Wario is just reverse Mario with less meme material. Eggman wins, no contest.

True gamers of culture forego both for Chad Waluigi though :manabu.
