I'm getting into the 3rd arc. I fucking hate this arc so much. Guts vs Zodd is the only thing worth the time. The witch fuck and on is just fucking atrocious.

In their rematch? Guts stated that just like before, he was still no match for Zodd's raw power, though like before his weaponry allowed him to gain an advantage. I assume Guts would have an even more solid advantage if he busted out his other weapons such as the arm cannon and other projectiles or took Zodd on with some distance between them.

True, but he was still questioning the act of sacrifing everyone to accomplish his goal iirc. There was conflict.

Yeah I'd say he was neutral borderlining on evil until his rebirth. The way he smirked when that nobleman dude was assassinated by Guts clearly shows his evil tendencies.

Yeah I'd agree. He even asks Guts at one point if he thought he was a terrible person or something. He was ready to admit he didn't care about his comrades dying if it advanced his dream, but too rid of all of them seemed extreme.
