Guts vs Zodd was cool. Zodd had a shite sword, but do you think Guts was on par with his Base form there?

In their rematch? Guts stated that just like before, he was still no match for Zodd's raw power, though like before his weaponry allowed him to gain an advantage. I assume Guts would have an even more solid advantage if he busted out his other weapons such as the arm cannon and other projectiles or took Zodd on with some distance between them.

What do you say of this?

Grunbeld's fighting style is completely different to Zodd's for the most part, plus Guts didn't have the experience to learn about his capabilities as he did when he fought Zodd a second time. It's understandable that he could hold his own against Base Zodd due to his experiences and knowledge, yet get completely stomped by a comparable Apostle.

The bigger reason was that Guts was weakened after Slan cut his chest

Yeah, he has a sever injury from Slan. Couple that along with Grunbeld talking like Guts matching Zodd in a sword fight was a big deal, it all falls into place. Zodd seems to be the top dog for Apostles.

Do y'all think Guts with the armor can beat the top tier apostles yet?

I think he would've lost against Grunbeld by attrition, so not unless he can strategize properly

Current Guts at 100% with the armor would be a monster. Don't think he has ever been at 100% while donning the armor. Locus, Irvine, Grunbeld and Rakshas would all have one hell of a time with him, I'm not sure how it would go.

Why would he not be at 100%? The armor's whole schtick is removing inhibitions and pain signals isn't it? I'd think he gets somewhat weaker when the witch is inside the armor helping him control it, but he should have been at 100% when he used the armor during the full moon at least.

Yeah I think he was full powa. His arms were facing the wrong way at one point yet he showed no trouble.

I wonder why Irvine is an Apostle, I don't get it.

He was not 100% at Flora's or when he fought Ganishka. It also took him over a month to recover from using the armor at Flora's.
