I never got that either. He trained with Grandpa Moto for a couple weeks prior to Duelist Kingdom after basically knowing zilch about the game, and I know there are a lot of things in-universe to understand about playing, but still. I haven't played any of the new shit since like 2013 but if I had a few weeks dedicated to learning, I'd be damn good by the end of it. Joey doesn't get really good until the BC Finals in my opinion, and that was supposed to be his journey to becoming a true duelist so he could duel Yugi again.
Not only that, but he has had a front row seat to some very elite duels so far. He should at least know the basics such as a monster with higher attack points will defeat a monster with lower attack. It's absurd that he didn't understand that at the start of the duel with Ryuzaki.

Dan Green's Atem voice and Ted Lewis' Bakura voice are the only voices I prefer in the dub.

Yea Bakura's voice in Japanese is pretty damn terrible.

Why would Yugi/Atem allow Bakura to keep the Millennium Ring after beating Yami Bakura?

Either that or they thought he was banished to the shadows.

I found my sister's old Kaiba starter deck from the early 2000s. I had the Yugi deck but unfortunately it's nowhere to be found. I wanted to buy some of the original cards but my god they are ridiculously priced. And by the looks of it they re-released all of the original packs a couple years ago, but they look much worse and have no value. Too bad.

I felt the same when I got back into it like a decade ago. I regretted just giving away all my old cards. But now I have a bunch of cards I have no use for since I don't even collect anymore.

The good stuff of DK is coming up now.

Yea I wish I had better foresight in the early 2000s, but I was only 6-10 years old when I was collecting cards. Would be awesome to go back in time and experience that again. There is nothing like it anymore - pokemon cards included. I tried to read the Yugioh rulebook last night but the game seems so convoluted now. With Synchro and XYZ cards, plus infinite amounts of new sets being released, it feels like there is no point in collecting now.

Pyro can you play others on the dueling software you mentioned before? I want to try it but I would be terribly bad.

I found the tin with most of my old cards, but so many are missing. Notably Ra, Dark Magician, and Red Eyes Black Dragon :(

There are two main softwares I use for my dueling, Ygopro and Duelingbook. The former is a desktop app that has the built-in functions for the cards. I used to use it exclusively because it could include anime-only cards. But now Duelingbook allows custom cards (literally you can make up any cards you want) and there's no coding required because the website is nearly 100% manual; you have to activate the cards and deduct LP and all that yourself. I've been using Duelingbook now for all my stuff because I can make any cards I want without needing extra programs, and I can use rules from the anime like face-up Defense Position summoning. Both can be used to fight other people, but I think Duelingbook is easier.

I'd be down to try that once I get a better grasp on the rules. I'm sure it wouldn't be fun for you though.

Bought this mainly to get the god cards back, but man this was fun to open. What a blast from the past.

I acquired several of those just to get the God Cards. I didn't care about the restrictions on them. Fuck that.

I don't even care about the updated rules of the game nowadays. It's garbage. I still use rules from the 2010s like drawing a card the first turn if you're player 1. Now you can't do that. Nah, fuck you, that's how the game was originally played so I'm doing it.

Why wouldn't you draw a card? Hm, I guess I'll have to reread the original rules from my Kaiba deck then. I'm assuming the ones on Yugioh's website are current. Fuck that shit.

Also the game board that came in that collection is unreal.

Watching episode 16. Jonouchi desperately wanting to fight Kaiba is retarded. Who cares if he hasn’t won 10 star chips lol

It was also ridiculous how Jonouchi still hadn't learned anything about dueling. Continually attacking Kaiba despite having lower attack.. like come on lol

When does the cancer end. I kind of want to watch some duels but I don’t want to sit through hell doing it.

I finished episode 16 and Kaiba was about to go to Pegasus' castle to duel. So hopefully not far from there.
