Believe me, you're far from it ending. Duelist Kingdom is 40 episodes in total, and the events between it and Battle City bump the count up to 49 if including them.

There's no point watching that virtual mini-arc. It adds nothing to the plot. Even Rebecca can be skipped if you don't plan on watching the Doma filler arc as she's an anime-exclusive character and barely appears beyond filler. You can basically skip to Duke Devlin after Pegasus and then go to Battle City without affecting anything.

^Pretty much that. For later filler if planning to watch the whole series, you can also skip the Noah filler unless you reeeeally want to see Honda/Tristan participate in an actual duel (though you may as well just watch the Abridged version of the arc which makes as much sense), as well as skip everything between the end of Battle City and start of Millennium World unless you actually want to watch the Dartz filler. It does have some good duels as well as ideas concerning Atem, but it has some really big asspulls and its good premises end up having heavily contradicting resolutions.

Does Jonouchi not find it odd that Yugi can crush the evil within someone’s heart? :giraffe

How far do you plan to get in this watch? Up to the end of Battle City?

Prob the whole thing minus a lot of the filler.

The Millennium World/Pharaoh's Memories arc has some pathetically bad animation (nearing early DBS levels) as well as many questionable plot decisions due to them ignoring the events of the manga for a good 40% of the arc. Highly recommended that you switch to manga format after Battle City.

Might drop after Battle City and read the entire manga then. I only got to around chapter 24 iirc. Would like to compare them.

Sounds good. I recommend you watch the last 4 episodes of the DM anime though because the final duel featured in those episodes has better showings in the anime than the manga.

Pretty embarrassing that these guys are supposedly the top duelists and they can't even foresee a trap card being used. :ha

That's how the game was back then, bruh. It was in its infancy. Think of how the internet is in this world. All these kids now stuck to their phones couldn't imagine a world without being online, without Trap Cards, but we remember. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

He attacked it and then stated that he couldn’t attack it so recklessly anymore.

By far the best moment in all of Yugioh.
