Super episode 1 Thread (Spoilers)

-The animation's pretty decent as far as starter episodes go.
-It's nice seeing Goku/Goten seriously interact for once and they're really nice.
-Beerus destroyed half a planet just by tapping his finger. Not gonna lie but that's raw as hell.
-Videl's like a totally different character now like other mentioned. In fact, I don't think she's even a character any more. Just being super nice.
-A snake with eyebrows?! Strange.
-I'm not feeling Chi-Chi's portrayal so far at all. She's done nothing but yell the entire time... even the opening has her making Nami faces (but at least the ending has her happy). Hope this isn't a recurring thing.

It's not a bad starter episode... it's actually like one of those self-contained filler eps in the original anime series with one bit of it being relevant to the plot.

It's gonna be hard to get used to the japanese voices, cause Goku and his family have higher pitched voices than the females lol. Supreme Kai's voice is superior to the Eng Dub's though.

If the kids one-shotted the snake, there would be no scene and no conflict. Why do you have to bring power into everything? Just enjoy the episode without going all crazy with strength.

It was a cute little episode. It's quite refreshing seeing the other characters actually...existing. It's fairly obvious that the kids were holding back, as they were trying to be careful and both not break the bottle and not kill the snake. Also they're kids, guys. We're not talking highly trained warriors that would go for the kill automatically, we're talking children who are quite messily handling a situation much like when brothers are messing with fire ants. They were collecting river water because they heard there was a cosmetic/therapeutic value to it. XD

Peeps here have forgotten that these characters are imperfect and human; time has made us forget that they can have margin for error despite their previous displays in the last show, and they are not always the solid numbers we equate them to. Superman can slam dunk a meteor into the sun and then the next day trip on a imperfection in a sidewalk. Cell's fight with Gohan could have ended differently if the kid accidentally pulled a muscle when he fired his final beam. Sonic ain't gonna go super because he's late for lunch. etc etc.

The snake scene was too long and stupid, but I need to not look at this as a 12 or 24 episode series haha. Its been a long time since I watched something over 50 episodes.

Man, they didn't even bother to reanimate the old events with Kid Boo. Not that I'm a big fan of the new animation/art style but seeing the different styles juxtaposed with each other was jarring.

Anyway that was basically a dbz-style slice of life, kind of. That music when Goten and Trunks were looking for the water was fkn freaky btw. As a pilot episode it was fine. lol @ Piccolo stalking Gohan, doesn't he have anything better to do? Nice to see everyone though.

Is there any hint as to how long after the Boo battle this is? Gohan can't be much more than 18 or 19 though at this stage as I doubt it's any more than 3 years.
