Vegeta SSJ (Androids saga) vs Future Trunks SSJ (Androids saga) gap

Tien's quote don't have to necessarily imply that Goku is the superior fighter. It just have to mean that Goku was the strongest Z Fighter since Vegeta, at least in my opinion, wasn't a '"Z Fighter" yet. I don't think that everyone accepted Vegeta(not completely, at least) as a part of the team..

What's the gap between Vegeta and Trunks in your opinion?

10% at least 20% at best.
I personally go with Option A.

While I agree that Trunks isn't far weaker than Vegeta, his quote on Trunks and the others being useless against #18 isn't BS. His sword got broken with ease and his Chi-blast earlier was just as useless. Vegeta even said it was a waste of energy.

Yeah but those were both 1 on 1 situations. 18 has a very large lead over Trunks individually.

During a team attack, nothing is stopping her from punching right through Trunks. The strongest guy there couldn't even do anything to her. He also attacked her from behind when her attention was on Vegeta, so I don't see what'd be so different during a team attack.

There are arguments for both sides, so just make up your mind and don't act like your view is the only plausible scenario.

I simply argued against the team being effective for the sake of doing it, not that I believe it.

Actually, everyone is allowed in this topic. I was also making some points earlier, and yes, I was speaking in general.

The thing is, say she is busy fighting Vegeta, Trunks can take advantage to attack her while she is unguarded. Every time Trunks attacked the Androids, they were able to prepare and put up a defense. But if 18 is pounding Vegeta or holding him off, Trunks can take a free shot at her. That's how I see it at least.

If Piccolo and Trunks donated their energy to Vegeta, i think that he'd be able to take out 18 pr~~~~etty easily. Perhaps one-shot if the plot is specially happy that day.

But again, Vegeta is too damn pride to accept that kind of help, and i doubt that he'd donate his energy to Trunks, for instance. And even if Trunks gave his energy to Piccolo/vice versa, they wouldn't be capable of taking out a team work of 17 and 18.

I was talking more about Vegeta's point of view... What would he think Trunks is useless if he knows Trunks is not that far behind him? Even more when he think he is actually stronger than 18. If he himself believes him to be stronger than #18, his son should not be useless against her.

I don't think Piccolo is that close to Trunks. Trunks is closer to Vegeta than Piccolo is to Trunks IMO.

I don't think Piccolo is that close to Trunks. Trunks is closer to Vegeta than Piccolo is to Trunks IMO.

What suggests that?? Piccolo is clearly in the same league as both. I'd even say that he would capable of winning vs Trunks because:
~ Piccolo is much more skilled.
~ Piccolo is much more experient with fights.
~ Piccolo is tougher, as shown by him not being one-shoted by 17.
