One-shotting gaps aren't linear, that is true. Goku one-shotted Recoome with a 1.5x gap, yet survived hits from 50% Freeza with a 20x gap. However, the similar thing about those gaps is that the weaker character never performed a feat like catching a punch. That is why a 1.66x gap between Vegeta and Freeza doesn't work.

I definitely don't see how Vegeta would even dream of defeating a hypothetical 2nd form Freeza together Gohan and Kuririn if he were only at 300,000. Mind you, 2nd form Freeza (Vegeta's estimations) should be >>530k.

How about this...
Vegeta expcted Freeza's increase to be proportionally the same as Zarbon's (about 1.33x), so Hypothetical 2nd Form Freeza is 700k.
Therefore, for Krillin/Gohan to be helpful, they must be at least 350k each.

Vegeta was banking on their battles powers continuing to increase, because they had all along. He was also putting alot of emphasis on Gohan getting mad.

I don't see a reason why people have to look further into it then this.

Yeah, Vegeta expecting Freeza's boost to be about equal to Zarbon's sounds good enough.
