Dandadan first 3 eps
I knew the opening song already (listened to it on repeat couple months ago, maybe for like an hour), turns out I know the ending song too.
The eps go by so easily. Three eps is like one ep of other anime, with how fast-moving it is. It's like the opposite of the One Piece Toei anime - no nonsense.
Super wacky and unpredictable. Very creative from the author. The manga is well-regarded but I'm gonna recommend the anime, cuz it's an easy watch and the action and visuals are good.
Only watched it cuz it was the first thing I could think of when I wanted: something short to watch while finishing my food - ended up watching 3 eps instead of 1. edit: I didn't even have any idea what it was about until I started watching it!

Currently watching Haibane Renmei. At episode 10. Kind-of interesting.

On TV, Knight in the Area & Jujutsu-Kaisen

Watched some kind-of short series (not long-running), like last year.

Steins;Gate & 0 (good)
Erased (interesting & good at times, but weird. in the manga the killer has like a weird, text-book serial-killer back-story with weird brother too.)
Psycho-Pass & the movie (good)
Madoka (a-lot of the series was interesting)
Texhnolyze (boooooooooooooring outside of certain sections & like the last 5ish episodes where it gets good IIRC but that's when it ends sooooooooooo...If I remember I'd just jump from one point to the next & then to the last few episodes but I don't really remember since it's been awhile.)

All from how I remember.

btw, as I was looking-up Texhnolyze before watching, since I saw it aired in Germany long-ago I saw that they also aired interviews with the 2 creators & found on Youtube:

I should watch Psycho Pass again. It's been like 13 years fuck lol
It was quite interesting from how I remembered it. The antagonist kept quoting or referencing a bunch of literature, especially his favourite (the person that created the original Blade-Runner?).

I don't remember it well enough but I remember thinking Makishima was a good villain.

And a great 2nd OP. Cause I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel...

And I also forgot to mention that I'm watching Spy x Family as it is airing. Fun series, like a wacky sit-com. There was someone here before with a Spy x Family AV. & I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaat now I know.

And before that I watched the Madoka movie last year too.

If you liked Psycho-Pass, it's quite different but short enough as-well and from the same person so maybe you'll find that interesting is Madoka. It doesn't look like it, but quite messed-up at times.

Haibane Renmei was one of my faves back in the day, as a newer anime fan. Been 13 years since then though, so dunno what I'd think now. It's one of those where nothing clear happens - more about the atmosphere and mystery.

Psycho-pass is great (I remember trying to get people from DBZF to watch it for a while when it first came out, to no avail). I don't remember the plot and details loads, but the premise and depiction of the future is one I still think of from time to time. The band that did the opening song became easily one of my top 10 bands, when I got into them a lot 8+ years later. Season 2 is whatever....it's nothing. Just meh...also it doesn't have Kogami.

Tex is a pretty muted series, again more about the atmosphere and being in another world, like Haibane, but here a dystopian world, without light and many things humans really need. It's pretty ok, but nothing really happens. Interesting how there's like no dialogue.

You ever watch Lain? It's from ABe as well, who worked on Haibane and Tex-mexolynze. You probably have and I should probably know.

Yeah, I watched SEL. That's the reason I even wanted to watch Texhnolyze & Haibane Renmei. SEL is one of the best.

Did you watch the movie for Psycho-Pass? It takes place in South-East Asia I think. It was written by the creator. Quite good IIRC. I didn't watch anything past the 1st series and the movie for that reason.

Texhnolyze gets really interesting when they leave Lux(was that the name?) & go to the surface world. Really interesting but that's toward the end. When you see the surface world, Lux to some might come-off as paradise because people lived there (can't think of another word) instead of what-ever was happening in the surface world (I think MC said that) but there is a serenity in the surface. There is still something even in the last few episodes that really made me not like it & I'd rather erase that from my memory.

Also I forgot to mention I watched RD Real-Drive or something. Really intersting, good show...if again certain things were not there but what can you do? Either-way without that it's a really interesting show.

What lol. I'm curious...was it fucked up? Or just disconcerting?

Have you seen No. 6 (kinda gay, one of the first anime I liked. It's not overtly gay and could just be friendship, but apparently it is gay) or Mushishi? I haven't seen the latter.
Also Here and There, Now and Then is another dystopian one.

I didn't know there was a Psycho movie. How's it relate to the first season? Is it a direct sequel?

That reminds me I still never watched the NGE movie. I got as far as Shinji jacking off in the hospital. Not sure if I'd even know wtf is going on now or be as emotionally invested. It's not like it's a standalone movie that has value without having the anime on your mind.

I’d rather not talk about it, if you watch it you might know what I talk about. It’s toward the end. I’d rather not talk about it, if you watch it you might know what I talk about. It’s toward the end.

never watched it.

I think it comes after season 2 but you don’t need to have watched it. Kogami is back again in that movie too.

Also forgot that I watched that one series. Trying to think of the name. Summer something. Summer-time render I think. Good series from what I remember. I’d recommend it. There is some stuff that’s really disturbing and creeped me out and go eeeeeeewwwww, but it’s an interesting show. Also there was a line that might make you go lol. Character shoots someone at night I think & kills them. Characters superior shows-up and tells him not to shoot “This isn’t America you know” or something.

also this in the OP was kind-of kewl (I still remember it). It goes perfectly with the music:

I read the first two chapters to get an idea and I think I'll watch the anime. Seems like my kind of story. Hopefully they don't blow it from here.

Also I forgot (but have mentioned it before anyway) to say Call of the Night. Fun series.

There are a bunch of other series airing as-well, but I'm not paying as much attention to them.

Also was half-watching Gurren-Lagann (as it is airing), but that series I thought kind-of went down-hill once Aniki died. That first ED is amazing though. It kind-of sounds as if Simon's German voice-actor learned Japanese & sang the song though. You know I did say it wasn't as good once Aniki died, but it did give way to this epic moment:

It seems like it starts to suck when he dies but he gets better a few episodes after.

Wow Gurren Lagan spoiled. Not that I was gonna watch it. Seemed like a style over substance show iirc, or maybe too much echhi. If the former, I'd be more open to that now than when I was younger, since watching Monty Oum's interviews in 2018.

Dandadan is on Miruro.tv with nice subs (without a box around them).

Paedo shiz. Paeeeeeeedo.
I found the main girl annoying. Main guy is bland - not much backstory, he acts bland, he's a loner but it's not even like he's sad or gets bullied...just a bland character. Also kinda weird to me that he's knowledgeable about romance, despite having like no emotions. The romance that is there is pretty immature I'd say. The paedophile girl is super immature despite being alive for like 40 years, which I suppose could be possible if she's a vampire not living normally alongside people, but I think she has vampire friends. Nice hue to the art, but the backgrounds are pretty dead, like the trees don't move. Some buildings have wonky parts...not as wonky as the girl's looks tho.

Didnt u watch Call of the Night in 2023 tho?
