Also, forgot to mention Beerus telling Freeza to destroy planet Vegeta :facepalm

That shit completely ruins the Freeza arc for me.

Episode 5 animation imo.

While objectively shet, it's probably the most entertaining part of Supa for that reason.

Well it's entertaining for a wrong reason. But that's what happens when you hire a noob animators. :toei

Episode 5 made me feel good about myself knowing that I can faithfully replicate the artstyle. :tapion2

Yeah, if he was introduced now, he'd have attained Super-Saiyan 3 episodes in, if he didn't have that before.
I read that as Super Saiyan 3 instead of Super Saiyan "3 episodes in" at first. Yeah, Tarble could probably achieve regular Super Saiyan within that timespan with the method Caulifla uses.

I honestly ignore the Beerus retcons. They're completely out of nowhere and subsequently ruin other characters for no goddamn reason.

Literally everything done with the franchise after the manga ended, beyond a few of the video games and maybe the Yamcha spinoff if treating them as dumb fun (which is far more excusable for these than as a defence of Super).

Even the Yo Son Goku and friends special?

Not only did it contradict the manga by having yet another Saiyan survivor who's existence Vegeta never brought up before, but the lack of any kind of threat within it makes the conflict pretty much pointless.

I thought it was an ok for a special that was meant to be light hearted and bring nostalgia to those who used to watch the series back then. I mean yeah, some things didn't make sense but I don't it's anywhere near as bad as most of the newer material. You could also see this as special as ''dumb fun''.

It could be considered such if it weren't for the fact that with the lack of any real driving force for the plot, it just felt forgettable compared to even some of the worse aspects of the franchise.

Only things I really enjoyed about it were Roshi pulling a raddish that looked like a nude woman and the return of the Kikuchi score. That's about it.

Yo! Was pretty good, but you gotta look at it as a one-off return to Dragon Ball from a long break. It shouldn't be taken seriously.

Also, I agree 100% on Trunks' super hair. How did they fuck that up?!

A lot of gaiden chapters are the same way though, a forgettable enemy appearing in a remote setting as an at best moderate challenge for the heroes.

At least most Gaiden tend to show new insight as to characters' personalities or offer relevance to overlooked characters though. The JSAT special had none of that.

Hey it gave Yamcha 5 seconds in the limelight didn't it? :troll
