What are some things you'd do or like to see with the franchise going forward (no, you can't kill it)?

I agree. Franchise reboot with a concentration on drama and power scaling consistency.

No one watches for the jokes (they suck) or the romance (wait I may be wrong Solodolo and my wife thinks Gohan's high school years are a masterpiece) but it's not like that stuff can't be wedges in between the fights.

If anything, us fans haven't realized the fights are in fact wedges in between the pedojokes and bad romances.

I don’t know whether this is a good idea really, but how about some what-if scenarios? Things that didn’t happen, but could have happened. Make a series of that, like call it “chronicles” (I think I heard that before) or some-thing maybe.

Yeah, not super commonly, but commonly enough for it to be notable. What do you mean "How does that work?"? It just does.
HxH, FMA, Hellsing, Shaman King, Fruits Basket, and Evangelion are some examples of anime that have been rebooted.

The gai most likely means rebooting the story too or that’s what I assumed he meant, as-in completely different story.

Also how about “the un-seen adventures/years”? Filling in the gaps when there was a time-skip?

Also how about things like:

Muten-Roshi & co. vs Piccolo-Daimao
Muten-Roshi’s adventures when younger with Tsuru-sen’nin & all
Majin-Boo vs Kais
Bardock doing his thang
Future Gohan but some-time before he died
1, 2, 3, 4, 5…20th Tenkaichi-Budokai
Other stuff that happened in-between time-skips
Vegeta & Nappa & Raditz doing thangs

???

The ones I listed are pretty different besides HxH. But yeah I get the idea.

I’ve seen the Evangelion reboots and they sort of sucked. If Hideaki Anno failed, I don’t even want to think what Toriyama/Toyotaro/Toei would do.

I think the idea is someone else would do it, but that'd never happen. Either way this's just a what-if thread so we can imagine.

The reboot would have to occur from the Buu Saga. There's a ton of good in the Buu Saga, but the quality is tremendously lower in regards to consistent story telling and power scaling.

We don't like what they did with Piccolo, the whole SSJ/SSJ2 Gohan nonsense, the Gotenks madness and so on.

If we could get a reboot of the Buu Saga and a reboot of Super, it could be interesting.

I'd love a major tweaking of the universal tournaments and just everything has to be redone unfortunately. It's really not good work.
