How much stronger did he get from swinging that sword around? If at all? I feel that at best he got on par with Majin Vegeta/Goku. Nobody was praising his increases, they just looked at it in with some hesitant optimism that it would lead to something.

Share your perspective on the matter.

I think he's at least as strong ssj2 goku and vegeta. Goku had to think about whether gohan could take fat buu so he's probably not that much weaker

So yeah for him to go from CG goku level to that...I'd say that was some decent training

We know that Gohan is initially weaker than his Cell Games self. CG Gohan is mentioned at least twice, so I don't see any way he didn't stay below that level without it getting pointed out. Beyond that, I think he would have to be at least on the level of Goku and Vegeta, for Goku to be unsure about fighting Majin Boo. In fact, perhaps a bit higher than that, but I'm not sure there as of right now.

That's fair. But do you say there is a little increase in that? Even a tiny bit, or are you of the mind that it's in the arms and nothing more.

Well, there are 3 known components that make up Chi and more components that make up those 3 things. Since muscle strength would therefore count for alot less than 1/3rd, its safe to assume he didn't progress that much.

Well Goku doesn't contradict Supreme Kai about Gohan's power increased except that he's not sure if it is enough to beat Boo. Skinny Boo level imo.

I think he's marginally stronger than Goku and Vegeta, but I don't see a reason to put him as high as Fat Boo level.

Goku not contradicting his statement is not the same as Goku saying things -which he obviously never said.

Goku not contradicting Supreme Kai's statement shows that Kaioshin is right but not entirely.

No it doesn't actually. Unless you have a statement that says his Chi increased, we've no reason to assume he got any stronger except physically. Taking a very inconlusive statement to make Gohan in the range of twice as strong -by swinging a sword for a day, isn't logical.

Kaioshin was grasping at straws. Goku's evaluation was on a resting Gohan, so it's faulty from the start, and Goku even later outright says Gohan is weaker than Boo when he asks if Old Kaioshin's power will make Gohan stronger than Boo.

Saying "plot" doesn't work to explain a randomly large increase in a day because there's nothing in the plot that requires Gohan to be so strong. The power to beat Boo was supposed to come from Old Kaioshin, that's made clear.
