Well ppl can sense his ki now, so I assume someone like Krillin would shout it out if he did get powered up (Vegeta thought #17 was powered up when he fought the hell one).

I just think it's another shit inconsistency from Toei. Can't expect much from the same arc that had Freeza and Cell get repeatedly revived in Hell for no reason though.

Yeah it was regular 17 to my understanding, but he had a weird aura that matched hell fighter 17's aura. It seems like they both got some gay power up. I mean, Trunks one shotted Yakon with a generic blast, and Yakon >> 17.

This is why I think the Super 17 arc is literally worse than the copy-vegeta filler. At least that one you just have to sit through 2 episodes of horseshit animation, not twist every established fact about the series.

And I'm not sure the aura means anything. I mean, Piccolo and Dende flared up some weird energy when they similarly opened a portal as well, but I don't think that was indicative of a power up or whatever. Could be, though. Would make about as much sense as anything in that arc.
