I think Gohan isn't that old considering he was taught at the same time as Ox King. He could easily just have been only in his 60s or so when he died. Roshi would've still been an old ass man.

Nobody noted Tenshinhan got stronger or faster after Goku started using his FP. Not even Goku went and said something to that effect, something he usually does when the other party suddenly starts to do better than before.

Nobody noted Goku went more all-out against Ten initially than he did when defeating Kuririn. In fact he used the exact same maneuver of "disappearing" and then reappearing.

Even FP Goku wasn't far ahead of Tenshinhan, so unless Ten is like 1.9x ahead of match level Goku it can't be a 2x difference.
