I think it was stated that a timeline is erased when a God of Destruction kills the one who messed it. Does that mean that when Beerus killed Present Zamasu, the timeline Black Goku came from was erased? If not, what happened in that timeline when Zamasu left?

In the anime-filler flashback, Trunks was killed in his base form. So maybe he did train in the rosat but was ambushed and killed before he could go SSJ.

And then Goku surpasses him anew when he finally fully accesses the SSJ3 multiplier against Kid Buu.

I see no reason not to use that dub line, since there is no other evidence about the gaps after the Early Androids Saga except some arbitrary assumptions we can make based on tanking feats.
