18 vs Vegeta Discussion

Is it just me? Or is Vegeta rivaling 18? She is barely ahead of him, he is absolutely holding his own and the only reason he lost so devastatingly was that his stamina was dropping with every hit and hers was not. This is bullshit, there's no way 18 is 1.2x Vegeta. Man, the things you learn in Dragonball is endless.

18 was able to one shot SSJ Trunks essentially, I think having the gap between 18 and Vegeta at 1.2-1.25x is pretty fair. 18 implies she can beat SSJ Goku and SSJ Vegeta at the same time, calling for a gap bigger than Zarbon and Dodoria vs 24k Vegeta.

Hell no.

1) 17 is the one who one shots Trunks. And he hits him from behind.

2) 18 uses Vegeta's body and force to knock Trunks down for good, her being able to use Vegeta as a hammer doesn't mean she's stronger than Vegeta than what was shown.

3) She never implied she could take them at the same time. She said she doesn't have to worry. She's definitely talking about one on one combat and she's also talking out of her ass here. This is like Dabura calling Gohan trash. Vegeta is without a doubt a powerful foe for 18 to handle, her arrogance is unreal at this point.

The most impressive thing she does is block Trunks's sword with her arm and chip it.

She also tanks Vegeta's punch to the gut though.

Vegeta is pretty outmatched here imo. When learning Vegeta is ahead of Goku, she calls them nothing special and later wonders if Vegeta was pretending to be "weak" against her. Not the words of someone who was on par with her imo. Not to mention later Piccolo says they weren't even worthy being killed, pretty much summing up the level of attention the androids give to them.

Furthermore, Imperfect Cell was implied to be above Vegeta, who tells how everyone is easily surpassing a SSJ and also teels Cell has an absurdly large chi, yet Cell doesn't rival #18 according to #16, only weighted Kamiccolo does.

You can make an argument that Cell distantly rivals 18, but not 17. 16 says Piccolo rivals both, Cell could rival one. I don't believe that to be true myself, but it's possible.

1) Vegeta's punch forced her to become bent over, she just doesn't feel it because she is an android. She didn't tank anything.

2) Typical villain arrogance. Dabura literally calls Gohan trash even though he did hardly any damage to Gohan.

3) Trunks is impressed with Vegeta's showing and Piccolo is the one who brings up the stamina issue, never brings up a power issue.


I think we've been lied to all these years, Vegeta and 18 are fucking rivals. Jesus Christ.

I thought #18 was toying Vegeta here and was waiting for Vegeta to burn his stamina.

Why would 18 toy to wait Vegeta out if she could just take him out easily?

Let's see, Vegeta gets complimented on his power by 17.
18 cannot take out Vegeta and the group.
Trunks is impressed with Vegeta's showing vs 18.
Piccolo only brings up stamina as to why Vegeta will lose.

Unless 18 is holding back a shit ton of power, which 17 even doesn't think, she is not much stronger than Vegeta.


Looks like 17's reactions are the same as 18's to getting hit except for that fake ass tank.

I wouldn't exactly call that gut punch a tank... though it certainly didn't damage her.

Look at when he kicks Perfect Cell in the head, he immediately realizes what Cell really is. When he punches 18 in the gut, she knees him in his gut and then punches him into the cliff. Vegeta comes back out ready to get back to it, but with Cell he just stands there gawking because he is screwed.

Exactly. The punch is a weird panel. I don't know what it's purpose is. But all I know is that Vegeta is holding his own against 18. They are definitely rivals, at least during the fight.

#18 was slowly wearing Vegeta down and doesn't have a sign of damage. Vegeta can't even lay a hit once #18 got serious.

I wouldn't say that they're rivals. I think Vegeta is more like 75-80% of No. 18 or so.

All the stuff about Vegeta losing a lot of stamina fast can make it weird, though.

The fight when both are full power:

• 18 headbutts Vegeta, he charges back and punches her in the gut. 18 smiles.

• 18 knees Vegeta and cranks him through the rock wall.

• 17 says not even 18 could handle everyone on her own, implying she can handle 1 or two of them easily.

• Battle resumes, 18 blitzes Vegeta, he can't even put up a defense, and she punches him towards the wall.

• Vegeta rebounds and headbutts her, then hits her into the wall and blasts her with ki.

• 18 says she doesn't have to worry about either Vegeta or Goku.

• 18 then wears Vegeta down as stated by Picccolo, effortlessly blocking his attacks to make him lose stamina.

• 18 punches Vegeta and then breaks his arm.

• 18 ends oth Trunks and Vegeta by swinging Vegeta into Trunks

What I look at here are facial expressions and body language. 18 taunts Vegeta multiple times and is always smiling, even after tanking the punch to the gut. If we look at 18 vs Mighty Mask which is a true rivalry, 18 looks incredibly serious during the entire battle and doesn't fuck around. I think having this battle at 1.2x is fair.

Major point being, this battle is definitely closer than Cell vs Goku or Zarbon vs Vegeta.

After 18 says she doesn't have to worry about either Vegeta or Goku, she eventually wear Vegeta's stamina and he couldn't even lay a punch or a kick and she later destroyed him after that.

The fight did seem even, but that's hardly important. The emphasis is on the Android's unlimited stamina.

This can't work if Vegeta is still inferior to Gingertown Cell and Weighted Piccolo w/ Kami.
