JK Rowling. At least Toriyama's retcons weren't for pandering to "progressive" political demographics.

Then again, Toriyama was capable of making well written and inventive content for what it was at a time, so I guess he'd take the cake on how far his fall from grace was. Rowling was always a hack trying and failing to be the next Tolkien.

Yeah. A lot of what the anime fandom considers DB to be cliche for are things that the DB series actually was the first innovator of instead. That's not to say DB doesn't borrow from some older series, but other shonen have borrowed far more from DB.
