Anime Recommendation Thread

Pandoras Box here: Why do you guys hate this? I binged watched this series forever ago and have forgotten most of it. I never thought back on it with hate. Rather, three things stick out to me.Alex said:
1) The story was pointless and could have been done in six episodes.
2) I think it ended with a movie, which played out like if David Lynch did Pacific Rim.

Whoa, that third one's a big spoiler. Tag it.
It falls into the scarred character = deep character trap, relies on a monster-of-the-week formula for the majority of the series before attempting to come up with some semblance of a plot during the last chunk of episodes, the action is weak, the antagonists' motives are unjustified/thrown in at the last second, it preaches too much for its own good and has all the subtlety of a freight train, it struggles to find an identity, the characters never grow, it relies heavily on pointless shock factor, and Ramiel died too early. That's all I can recall really. Been a while. The Rebuild's a tad better, though if that was supposed to be an attempt to streamline NGE, then it failed there, although it has significantly better action and doesn't seem to try at depth as much.

If you are going to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, here are the warnings form the guy who's mech knowldege is his pride:
-Stop at episode 19 of the anime. From that point, everything goes to hell.
-Instead of watching tghe anime, watche th Rebirth Movies (1.1, 2.2 and 3.3). They summarize the whole deal, actually explain mor ethan the anime, look better, and you don't have as much emo whiney kid and awkward fapping. Even more, the whiny emo kid gets redemption! Just to want to kill him again on the next movie...

Hunter x Hunter (2011): This series is pretty much the pinnacle of anime for me. Everything is close to being perfect in the series. Togashi still needs to get more chapters out tho.
Kuroko no Basket: For sports and non-sports fan, this is a must watch. Everything in the series is good and I like it.
Parasyte: This is a must watch for anyone really. The show is amazing, and it's like candy to your brain.

Just finished an anime called Shigofumi. A Shigofumi is a letter from someone who has died that is delivered to someone who is living still. The story follows one of the postmen that delivery the letters. Very unique anime and a great watch, would recommend.
