Probably Nas. Illmatic is one of my favorite rap albums ever and one of the few that I think have no "dud songs," if that makes sense. Then again, it was relatively short, but at least I never come across a song that I'd rather skip. Nas really has a way with words and imagery. Eminem is pretty good too, though, clever lyricist and he can go with a lot of styles, and his flow used to be flawless. Eminem's fallen off lately though. I haven't listened to much of MMLP2, but although he seems to be picking up the pace lyrically by a bit again from what I can make out based on his EP with Royce, his flow just ain't the same. Plus he kinda sounds the same in all of his songs. That said, I haven't seriously listened to a Nas album since "Hip Hop is Dead" and I heard that in one of his recent tours he was apparently going around performing tracks off of Illmatic, so maybe he's fallen off a lot too.

Yeah, I heard Eminem had an OD in 2006, I think so he had to re-learn everything. That's why he and his rapping might be different now.

Yeh I think you should assume that college is going to be really hard and get into a habit of recising/studying STRAIGHT FUCKING AWAY so then if it you're on track and otherwise you'll be ahead and will be happy/at ease with the reduced work if u were doing more than needed.

Small talk can be weird. I think I'm bettrr with it now but a lot of the time I just naturally dont say much and then come across as quiet or maybe to the occasional person rude. Sometimes it could be weird to say too much or whatever and also in different cultures or to different people different stuff is appropriate. You should build it up slowly I guess so you're fairly used to it after some time. For bigger convos with strangers cant say I have much advice cuz I aint too into it. Swear in the last week 2 of my jokes went completely over everyone's head lol. 1 was my boss dude asked if he looked like autotrader (cuz someone had apparently been askin him about selling or buying cars or sumin) and he had already talked bout himself being too big/fat (hes not super fat probs....dunno cuz he wears loose clothes....plain white shalwar kameez) so I said "it's a big site" and defo stressed "big" a bit but him and the other guy who's only 23 didn't get it at all lol. Then on my bday sum1 sent me an audio clip on whatsapp in a chat group of them saying "happy birthday [shortened version of my name ending with "y"/ee sound] from Tom Jones" and when later I said nice Carlton impression nobody got it.....nobody watches Fresh Prince? Dafuk man. Maybe I need jokes with less links/connections.

Jakjak shows up on DBZF periodically, probably why he didn't cross my mind right then. But it has been a few months since last time, come to think of it. So yeah. Him too. Wonder what he's up to. Hmm I've been trying to tune out lectures lately but man it can be hard to do sometimes. I notice these days I tend to start an argument more and then win it, but then authority comes into play, before which I am powerless. Alas.

College is like a 20 min drive from home. 40-45 min by bus. I've chosen my courses for the first semester ye, got my textbooks and everything as well. I know a number of people who attended before/are attending, some people who live nearby/are family friends and some people from work. I also have a few friends who are going to go with me. Was kind of inevitable since some people were bound to stay back home for college I suppose. So I won't necessarily have to start totally anew there, although making connections is probably something I should get on doing there.

Lol I wouldn't tell jokes to strangers though, which is what I was thinking of at the time. Maybe an acquaintance yeah. For me though I think the worst part is just starting a conversation. I never want to, but there are some situations in which it'd be better/less awkward if some conversation was happening, or there could be some situation where I have to interact w/ someone new for w/e reason, and I just hope that the other person goes first eventually because I just wouldn't know what to say. "Nice weather...wanna go fishing?"

Hmm, distant relatives is generally by phone and occasionally Skype. Friends is by phone/texting and Skype. Whichever happens to be most convenient at the time (or if it's something more important then generally it'll go to phone not Skype). We do meet up in person sometimes, although for me hanging out is still inconvenient as I don't drive so I'd have to get picked up/have parents drive (which I would rather avoid) lol. Email has been relegated to "use this to sign up for stuff" and school updates. Maybe some other stuff that I don't remember right off the bat. I had a telegraph once but I broke it. Jk I never had a telegraph did u believe me

When I was a little kid I wanted to be an astronaut. Then my parents took me to this space shuttle takeoff simulation thing and I decided that it was too scary to become an astronaut and I gave up my dreams. I am not a man. After that I was just always unclear up until late high school.

Worst experience of pain idk, maybe one of my various stomach pains over the years. I tend to get like at least one case of bad stomach pains every year. Sucks. Never really broken a bone or anything except a finger so nothing really.

Hmmm I don't focus on any one genre but if I had to pick right now, rap I guess. Not a hardcore fan of anything by any means however.

Chaos;Head is the worst, probably. Couldn't stomach more than 5 eps, and I have a tendency of doing just that for humor's sake.

Hmm, this. The laxer rules are better imo, it's (generally) more active, plus most of the people I like are here anyway, plus there's a lot of dumb stuff on F (not necessarily the forum's fault) that's lacking here. Also I wasn't the biggest fan of F staff once upon a time, although I guess these days I have little reason to complain there.

When I argue with parents (or more used to since I live with an uncle basically/mostly) it would inevitably go towards "we feed you". And about half of all criticisms get responded to by my dad with a "well I'm much bettet than you" or otherwise "you live here so you have to [do what I say/have no right to anything/everything is a privilege, including basic day to day stuff]". So dumb. Never known anyone personally from my age band whose parents are like that in the UK, US or Pakistan....lol seeing how my cousins live even when with their parents p-ed me off.

Me and langs....I only speak English unfortunately. Was talking to shc about this a couple of weeks ago in DBZF PMs (plonly ended up back on F cuz he was PMing me and I couldn't be anonymous). Always spoke English in our house, probs cuz my mum's Punjabi and Urdu is crap (despite the fact she grew up in a house where people spoke a lot of Punjabi since both her parents didn't speak English and her mum still doesnt (dad aint speakin anythin since 2009, dont think he ever spoke English much either) and they arent exactly complimentary to each other so arent good for teaching language or for my dad to teach my mum some better urdu/punjabi and also maybe it's just not seen as good sometimes to go with another language in case it can hold you back....sorta like how a lot of families in Pakistan I know dont speak their regional language with their kids any more cuz to be truly successful you need urdu. My dad at most told me a few-several individual words from songs in the car or just how to say "yes", "no", "dirty/naughty", "son/daughter", "boy/girl" and "enough/stop". Otherwise he expected me to just "absorb" it by sitting amongst people speaking urdu for hours and hours lol....I used to just nod and shake my head or say yes/no randomly depending on what felt right, so I provs told people a bunch of false information and occasionally I'd say something a bit rude or insulting. Some people are always accusing me of secretly knowing urdu lol even just recently when I was like 18 and again about a month ago. It's like yo....why would I do that to myself....just wanna sit around sayin nothin and not bein involved with cousins and stuff. But ye I'm learning urdu nowadays, learnt a fair bit in Pakistan now I'm older and know what I'm doing with learning it and my cousin who's a year and a bit older than me is pretty helpful....my younger 1 over there who's 16 aint so helpful lol, fkin prick (swear hes obsessed with guns and shit as well). I wanna know a lot by December cuz 2 of my cousins are marrying (brothers, not to each other) and itll suck to not know waz goin on and be the odd one out out of like the 8 of us cousins (and their cuz on their dad's side who I aint met)....all boys for some reason. Not that bothrred bout punjabi since only person I know who has it as their first language is basically my mum's mum (just arrived at hers to drop off ma annoying rude aunt and been typing this out for like half an hour beforehand while offline). That said if I knew punjabi I could visit my mum's side in Pakistan (most of them know no english or urdu). Pretty sure 4 months is ample time to learn a language to decent proficiency. I'm not totes against moving to Pakistan in like 5-10 years....never know what life has in store though.

Been reading your textbooks a lot yet?

Yeah. Trying to read stuff before the corresponding lectures. Been slogging through first chap of Circuits book, that one's a bit tedious since I just don't like the way it's written. summin's off. Like idk, it just doesn't do a good job of conveying the info. Plus it's long. First chapter is pretty long. Pain in the butt to read. Much prefer the prof's lectures but he moves so slowly that I'm kind of forced to rely on my textbook to get my homework done on time.

In contrast I've gotten like 3 chapters outta the way for my Computing book, might do another one or two this weekend.

For calculus the calc prof straight up said that book wasn't needed at all lol. We don't use it, it's just as much of a supplement as googling calc questions for practice is for example. I haven't looked at it yet, though I might somewhere down the line if I have trouble with something since it might help.

Shakespeare readin, yes, I have Shakespeare class so I read Shakespeare. Finished The Taming of the Shrew. Interesting piece. Too many puns n shit tho. Also just realized this is my first Shakespearean comedy. Only read tragedies b4. dem high school teachers be 2edgy4me channelin their misery thru tragic fiction onto students.

Front row when I can. If I'm late for some reason, then I'll go as close to the front as I can. Also if it's a big lecture hall then I take care to try and sit in the middle of whatever row I'm in if possible.

Two exceptions:
- For Shakespeare class, I often fail to get a seat near the front since there's a class right before ours so by the time that class gets out there's already a crowd tryna get into the room so it's hard to get a front row seat. Also generally I'm pressed for time coming here anyway.
- Also pressed for time when trying to make it to my TA session for calc, although there the front row is way too close to the TA so I wouldn't sit there anyway. In fact most people avoid that row and generally skip to the second row if possible.

Written any essays yet? If so what?

Nah, thankfully none of my classes are too heavy on writing, not even the Shakespeare one. In the Shakespeare class I do have to write two essays for the semester, haven't gotten to em yet.

lol nah not yet. I do have this one professor for Computing so is legendary for not tolerating stupid questions though. He's not too big a dick or anything but yeah. I'm afraid that when I end up needing to ask him a question, he might go off at me for asking something dumb lol. But yeah, so far nothing.

Errm, well it's generally unhealthy stuff to say the least lol. Used to always pack a lunch in HS and stuff, now I've only done that like once. The uni is downtown so there're places to go, there's a street right off campus that's lined with food shops. The uni itself is full of random fast food places here and there. Then there's the cafeteria-style place where you can get a bunch of random stuff, probably the best place to go if you want something healthy.

Meals so far have been poor health-wise, mostly consisted of pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. Gonna have to switch things up a bit.

There are club fairs, although there are always at least a few clubs advertising on campus in high-traffic areas all the time. Club fairs are basically the same thing, except announced in advanced and with way more clubs/organizations in one spot.

I attended the first general meeting for my uni's branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). So I guess there's that. I'm still not entirely sure what I should join yet, though.

I walk, yeah. There's a bus system but I don't really use it. I don't really have a reason. There's no need for it and walking is good, even if it's a bit hot down here. Plus I like going wherever I want whenever I want, for bus I gotta wait a few mins for it to show up, usually. That's not cool, man. Do you understand my plight?

What does your computing curriculum roughly consist of?

We just finished learning about bits, data types, and operations. Binary numbers and all that. How a particular data type (2's complement) works. After this we'll learn about logic structures, starting from the transistor. The idea is that we'll work our way up from machine language to assembly language and so on.

Nah seriously though, Part 3 Joseph. Whitebeard's huge and all but he's too huge. There needs to be some balance (ironic that I say this when the other choice is a mothafuckin' JoJo character). Joseph might still be a bit too bulky for my taste but at least he's not a giant.
