I do find it highly pleasing to observe how there's more hype and positive reaction from the fandom due to Vegeta gaining SSJ3 than from the buckets of transformations thrown at us from Super. This is really all they wanted in the first place. Should have done it in BOG as many have pointed out, but props to AT for granting one final bit of useful fan service before he passed away.

Daima has been 10x better than Super or GT as far as I'm concerned. This is good post-Z type of stuff. Vegeta getting Super Saiyan 3 already makes Daima better on it's own. Pretty cool stuff. And lots of lore has been added as well.

Kind of funny that there are more children with SSJ3 than adults in this series. :troll
But Vegeta is a man... child though.
...Uh, that didn't come out right. Please don't let him know if you ever find some way into my universe...

Well, if we're going to talk about the overall quality of Daima, it's a 5 or 6/10 if I'm being generous. The only standout moments from this series aside from its contentious lore dumping have been Goku and Vegeta vs their respective Tamagamis. SS3 Vegeta is certainly a welcome addition, but to say Daima has been "good" is certainly a stretch. Better than Super, yes, but that's not much of an accomplishment. I'd still take GT over it as things stand. SS4 is still the best transformation this series has produced, Baby is a contender for best villain, the Evil Dragons are brilliant send off to the franchise, even if the execution with the first handful is lackluster and the ending itself provides that sense of finality without really flying in the face of that open ended nature the manga's ending was going for. That 100 year gap and what Goku could get up to after everything is filled to the brim with endless possibilities while still feeling like it's well and truly over. GT may have its own problems, but what it brings to the table is certainly more impactful as far as I'm concerned.

Vegeta going Super Saiyan 3 is the best thing to happen Post-Z. This is truly all worth it and amazing. Toriyama gave us a good one before he left! This series seems far more reasonable than Super's ridiculous power scaling. I'm very happy!

I would say Daima's power scaling has been pretty good so far if it wasn't fir the fact random giant aliens and a kraken are stronger than SSJ3 tier.

Can someone post some screenshots of the show, not spoiling anything major? Or, link me a website that has some sort of vague synopsis and screenshots.

Edit: Is Daima a continuation of Super, or is Daima its own separate entity? I see the logo as just: Dragonball Daima.

Daima takes place a year after the Boo arc and three years before Super.

So the plot thickens once again in the department of whether or not the mini versions of the characters are weaker.

Degesu doesn't draw a distinction between their adult and child selves and claim they beat Majin Boo and the Tamagamis.

Further, the term strength isn't used when Goku says the Kraken might be a bit much for them the way they are now.

Now, what could Goku mean by that, I think that's apparent in Vegeta's line later where he says he isn't used to his child body.

Further, with Vegeta being able to blast his way out of the Kraken's mouth and force it to stop giving chase, I think it's fair to say it's not a strength issue.

Episode 15 again cements that their fighting ability was nerfed from having children's bodies. We also know what the third eye does now. It was bullshit how Goku only went SSJ when 90% of the episode was already over though, almost GT-like.

Another boring episode. Nothing fun about seeing Gokuu and co struggle against guns or a bunch of fodder soldiers.

While I agree they got weaker, the writing doesn't execute it well. Like this fight against the goon army should have been put in an early episode where it is made explicit that they can't access Super Saiyan yet and by the end have them unlock it as a way of them getting used to the child body. And then much later have them fight the Tamagamis and gain SSJ3.

The pacing, the execution, I was enjoying it at first but the writing is bad.

I never said the writing was good, in fact I told you I was considering dropping this show lol.

They aren't "weaker" in the sense their Ki has diminished, they seem to have trouble employing their abilities at the discretion of the plot because the nonsense in the last episode just doesn't jive with Goku and Vegeta vs their respective Tamagamis. These instances feel like they're out of 2 completely separate shows.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Base Saiyan fight scenes are the bane of this franchise. You can never feel any tension knowing the protags are holding at least 2 forms back because of PIS.

Why would anything in the franchise before "End of Z" have any tension anyway?... 🤔
