I don't really understand this part. When Gohan transformed, didn't one of them yell "It's him!" when they saw his power? Yet Bobbidi's first conclusion was that they tapped hundreds of humans? So were they expecting someone to put forth a shit load of power (as the dialogue suggests) or were they expecting to steal a lot of energy from different people?

Yep EV, the whole thought process is a cluster fuck. They act like they are looking for someone specific yet Badibi knows nothing about it. Yea they are probably suppressed anyhow.

Babidi guessed they stealed energy from hundred of humans due to it filling to almost half of the energy necessary to revive Boo. That is, he didn't expect the energy stolen from just one of them would fill up that much, hence speculating Spopovich stealed it from someone else, from other people.

The whole sequence shows Bobbidi is clueless. He sends Spopo and Yamu to get energy. They return with at least 7 from the tournament. Piccolo and Krillin are considered trash, but an Earthling having enough power to defeat Pui-Pui shouldn't be possible even though he believes he's 1/3 who would fill the remaining energy meter. This part is so dumb. Besides knowing that they can't use Kaioshin or Kibito's energy, Bobbidi doesn't seem to know shit. Exactly why I ignore this part of the saga now.

So EV, if we had to rewrite it, how would it go. Knowledge of the Saiyans probably would help? Badibi and Dabura being more clued into who they are would add a lot of mystique to the situation as well...

Any reason Oozaru needs to be 10x boost besides Vegeta's comment? According to the story, a 5x boost would work just fine.

What if Goku's exhaustion from resisting Roshi's electric attack for so long factored into his low battle power as an ozaru? He was about to surrender when he transformed after all. Could be 10x whatever he was then.

I don't know. He doesn't really exhibit any signs of damage after returning to his humanoid form. He has more energy than Jackie Chun, but he has low energy as well. But it seems it's attributed to his hunger, more than his damage. Not saying damage isn't a factor here, but that's the sense I'm getting.

You could very well go with that though, that's what happened to Vegeta and it's very well likely it played at least a factor here in Goku's fight with Jackie.

It's quite possible the only time we see a fully powered Oozaru in the manga is when Gohan transforms.

Ah. And that probably all but cinches the debate now doesn't it? Great Ape Gohan >> Piccolo pretty much confirms Oozaru has to be 10x now doesn't it?

My only question then is, could Great Ape Goku survive Roshi's mountain blast, moon buster at full power?

To answer your question, p, I would actually make their sensing abilities consistent. Like, once the Saiyans would transform, Bobbidi and Dabra would talk about it being the source of power they were seeking to awaken Boo, and that they expected them to join the tournament. It would actually give some coherence to their plan. Draining a bunch of humans "who weren't like this 300 yrs ago" to awaken Boo pretty much paints these guys as not knowing a damn thing.
