Does anyone think that the Future Trunks that killed Cell is stronger than CG Future Trunks? I think it’s possible. He might feel obliged to keep training being the only person left to protect Earth. I think he could reasonably be closing in on Goku’s CG strength.

Also, was this ever brought up in the Trunks vs. Future Android debate on Neoseeker?

Cell says that Trunks can't beat 17 or 18, implying either one of them individually could beat him.

Yeah, I always thought Future Trunks trained during those 3 yrs and reached a level that was in league with the Full-Power Super Saiyans.

Since Cell Games Vegeta is implied to be >50% Goku, with Trunks not trailing too far behind, three yrs of additional training seems like enough time for him to close the difference even further.

The Narrator did say Trunks would always be ready to protect the future in case it was in danger. That leads me to believe training became a natural part of his life.

I think the fans want to see Future Trunks continue to train. That's what they want to see. Plus, Trunks looks jakked as fuck against Cell as well, he looks like he's been working out for sure. I don't think he can close the gap on Goku just yet, but he's probably like 75% or so.

It's a fan favorite idea. I think with power levels, it's on us to show what the fans want to see. Unless they are dead wrong of course. The fans want to see a strong Trunks.

The fans want to see a strong South Kaioshin, the fans want to see respectable Kaioshin strength besides East Kaioshin of course and Dabura being strong is good too.

And last but certainly not least, the fans want to see a strong ass Gogeta!

Yeah, I think he has kept his training and has gotten stronger, but is still lagging behind CGs Goku... maybe he went from 60% to 80% of CG Goku's power, which seems like a fine improvement to me, considering a drastic jump in power wasn't stated nor implied. May be worth noting that Trunks' face seems more manly and mature three years after, with a more well defined jawline. Dunno whether that matters to this discussion, just wished to bring it up.

As for whether Cell's line regarding Trunks unability to defeat an android alone was brought up, yeah, that was... but it was disregarded since Gero's data towards Trunks might be inaccurate.

It should be Trunks data from years ago. How long ago? That's the question.

Long enough that I can dismiss it for my view of Freeza > Future Cyborgs, obviously...

Is there any reason to assume EoZ Gohan hasn't gotten weaker since the Boo arc?

It's never stated and I doubt he'd let the same mistake happen again.
