Well this film truly exceeded my expectations. I went into it thinking it was going to be terrible and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't just terrible, it was a disgrace to all of Dragon Ball that came before it. Blatant rewriting of events that happened within the manga, despite being written by Toriyama. Blatant Toei moments that copy the mistakes that have been present since GT, such as Galu and Vegeta refusing to use their strongest forms despite getting fisted by Broly. Goku and Vegeta could barely last against Broly, but we are meant to believe that Freeza held out for an entire hour just so that we could see the unfunny failed fusions of Gogeta - identical to Gotenks' failures in the manga. Beyond that, I'll say the film had ok animation at times, but at other times it was damn near impossible to keep track of what was happening during fighting sequences. The OSTs during battle were simply tragic. I can't recall the last time I started laughing in the midst of a battle scene because the OST was so fucking horrific. I'm shocked that anyone would have approved of its use.
Overall, I'll give this a generous 1.3/10 in honour of Freeza's 1.3 million battle power being able to stand up to Broly for a decent amount of time. Simply incredible stuff.
