I always like to imagine that Toriyama tries his best to smile at the efforts of the Toei staff, but then ultimately whispers in Toyotaro's ears saying, "Fix this shit."

I actually have no knowledge of "canon" works when it comes to Super. I know the manga is held in higher regards to quality, but I was under the impression the anime came first, thus was default canon.

Super's canon became highly suspect when they acknowledged the Ginyu Frog filler that was present in Z and in Kai but not the manga. Now that they're acknowledging Yamcha's baseball career, it's probably fair to say it counts as a continuation or midquel of Z.

That's the only way I can somewhat rationalize Vegetto de-fusing inside of Boo cause there is no fucking way in the nine circles of hell that an HOUR passed during his two chapter long fight against Boohan in the anime. No. Fucking. Way.

People who like the anime so much for some reason say the manga is only promotional-material to DragonBall-Super which I think is false. I think only the FnF version of the manga was made to promote the movie, not the actual manga promoting the series too.

The manga has just as much validity in my opinion. Just because the anime released before means nothing in my opinion, considering AT is directly giving them both the out-line.

I'd like some evidence for anime's side somehow having more validity honestly.

Interesting points. I think I'm going to have to go with personal canon on this bitch.

Yeah, to my knowledge the manga isn't "adapting" the anime like Toei was back when they were adapting the original DragonBall Manga into an Anime. Both the manga and anime get their information/out-line/suggestions or whatever from AT. The manga doesn't look at the anime and adapt. As you can see by the manga bothering to explain things unlike the Anime. :gay2 :gay :gay2 :gay :gay2 :gay

Ehh, the only thing approaching a real canon is the original 42 volumes of the manga by Toriyama. Everything else is an alternate universe for me. That's not to dismiss the anime adaptations or the films, but if we're gonna talk about what counts the most, it seems logical to go with the "purest" form of it.

Anime is canon. According to official material, the manga is an adaption of the anime.

These are mini arcs, not filler

Proof? I have never heard the manga is an adaptation of the anime. That doesn't make any sense.

Filler, because they fill time until the real saga happens.

The manga is NOT an adaptation of the anime, both Toei and Toyotaro receive manuscripts from Toriyama that are basically vague outlines that both use to make their respective versions of the story. The anime staff is noted to change the story as they see fit while the manga is overseen by Toriyama page by page and receives input from him, the anime does not.

If you want to know what's canon? Toriyama's outlines for this shit are, meaning that "Goku and Hit fight! It is a great battle in which Goku becomes 10 times stronger than Vegeta!" is what's canon, have fun with that.

Filler, because they fill time until the real saga happens.
Filler implies non canon in this context.

Did a look on Kanzenshuu's news archives:

Toriyama says to "watch the tv show" which could mean it's primary canon.

Shaky I know but here's the main part: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2015/06/19/akira-toriyama-dragon-ball-super-comments-in-august-v-jump/

After rereading that it's hard to know if it's Kanzenshuu's own language that calls it an adaption rather than the original picture. I should ask them

He obviously wants to promote the TV-show, so he can make more money. If he had to promote the manga, he'd probably say "keep reading the manga".

I very much doubt next arc has any involvement by AT and that's what most people judge "canon" by. The next real saga will probably start early next year and AT might promote that again like with the Future Trunks saga.

The manga will be ahead of the anime soon, does that then mean the anime is adapting the manga since the manga comes before the anime? :gay2 :gay :gay2 :gay :gay2

Exactly. :CC :CC :CC

And we've gotten newer information since then that basically confirms what I said above: both the anime and manga get the same outline that then gets adapted into their respective mediums. Toriyama is more involved with the manga which was reinforced by a joint interview with Toyotaro & Toriyama and more comments by Toyotaro just a month ago.

The manga started out first anyway and was in front till Frost went into his final form so that logic doesn't hold up. Just cause some stuff from the anime isn't in Toriyammers outline doesn't mean it doesn't turn into canon.

Well you did say the manga is an adaptation of the anime which doesn't make sense. :eek:k :eek:k :eek:k

I didn't say the anime wasn't canon, if you want to believe that believe that. What I was talking about was people saying the manga wasn't canon for some-reason.

That's what the official material says or at least how Kanzenshuu words it. If it helps make more sense, the tv show was announced first
