Are the effects from food permanent?

This is definitely one of the coolest DB game experiences I’ve had. That’s not including the gameplay as I have no experience with that. But just roaming around in the world is awesome. It really feels like Dragon Ball.

I unlocked the Z encyclopedia. I assume this will record the events of the story or something?

Just started the cutscene at Roshi’s house. I hope Krillin gets slapped hard by Raditz’ tail :ha

I briefly ran around the open world for about a minute last night. Can you fly right away?
You can, I believe. The only time where Kinto'Un is made mandatory iirc is when arriving to the battle against Nappa. There are some other sections that prohibit you from flying though, such as playing as Gohan during the early parts of Piccolo's training or when Gohan and Kuririn are trying to hide from Freeza's forces on Namek.

The major effects are temporary, other than one that comes as part of the Season Pass, though I believe each meal still offers a very slight boost to base stats.

You actually can, though only as Gohan and you have to complete the Cell Arc first and use the Dragon Balls to revive him.

The devs obviously knew Cell was just the warm up before facing true perfection :panties

I think it's the down directional button. If not, you should be able to check by looking in the tutorial section.

They say it takes 10,000 hours to truly master something. I’m going to dedicate 10,000 hours of my time towards training against Appule so I can say I am the Master of Lord Appule. :alex :alex

Unfortunately, you can only fight him once in this game (twice if including him appearing in the team of villainous enemies assisting one of the bosses in the Southeast Islands). Obviously, he wouldn't grace someone too often.

BT3 though...

Got up to the part where you team up with Piccolo. I can’t believe Krillin getting slapped by Raditz was left out :rumoosh

I've now got the whole 1000G in the game (basically the Xbox equivalent of getting the Platinum for you PS4 users). Unlike most games I've done this in, however, this is one that I'm still eager to explore. There's so much content in the sub-stories and open world to explore, as well as so much potential for DLC missions (of which I assume the Time Machine will play a big part in).

Got to say, Mira was surprisingly easy for a secret boss. The only difficulty is that his great amount of health makes him a pretty big tank, though I was still able to beat him with a team where the only character that had surpassed Level 90 was Ultimate Chadhan. Hoping they add a wealth of content going forward, considering the level cap being 250 and the highest boss being 200 (Villainous Gotenks and Vegetto rematch) leaves a pretty big gap open.

Also, the revived Cell fight tries to plug a potential plot hole by saying Cell was bullshitting in his explanation of his survival through the nucleus in his head. Got to commend the developers for putting in the effort to make parts of the story like that more consistent. The battle against revived Dabura was one of the most entertaining sub-stories thus far.

Apparently 0.5% of people have the Platinum on PS4. You are one of the privileged top 1% :king

On Xbox, it's currently sitting at 0.3%. It is a pretty new game, so it's bound to increase drastically in time. In terms of achievement/trophy hunting, I'd say its arguably the easiest DBZ game to complete to 100% (DBZ Budokai HD Collection comes close, though is somewhat harder due to the tournaments and break ins). It's overall pretty easy aside from a select few bosses, of which still don't get too irritating as long as you stock up on good healing items.

Im going to try to obtain the Platinum eventually. What would you say the most difficult trophies/achievements were?

There's none I'd cite as being too difficult as long as you get used to the combat and can progress far into the story. Even things such as the post-game battle against Mira or clearing a Level 10 mission in the gravity training aren't that difficult as long as you stay sufficiently levelled and have good items (playing as Galu/having him in support and spamming EX, Super EX or Ultimate Genki-Dama also helps). Overall, the game is time consuming, but outside of a select few boss fights in the story, it's nothing difficult.

Since I've cleared that, I might make a comprehensive guide to the trophies/achievements in a separate thread.

I just beat Raditz and am moving on to Gohan’s training with Piccolo. I’m curious as to how much of this will be covered before the battle with the Saiyans. I’m also curious to see if Goku’s training with Kaio will be part of the game.
