I think Wano is a better arc, all the way up until Gear 5.

Luffy vs Doffy was way better than Gear 5 vs Kaido

Fishman Island is more fitting for this comparison, and even that trumps the Wano arc.

I didn’t know Wano was that bad. I thought it was simply a disappointment like Dressrosa was to me. Fishman Island is a truly terrible arc.

Say what you will about the execution. Fishmen Island at least has charm and is basically a dialogue about racial discrimination within One Piece and the real world.

Wano is, well... I don't have a clue what it's trying to be.

Punk Hazard was meh. Not trash but not great. I thought Whole Cake was solid. Sanji is a fan fav of mine so it was certainly an arc that appealed to me.

Whole Cake was ok, Luffy vs Katakuri was amazing.

Luffy vs Kaido ruined any semblance of a chance that Wano had to be a passable arc. Both bored me to death either way. Wano had a lot more promise but completely failed.

Dressrosa by a milestone. Doflamingo was just a way more interesting villain.

Doesn't help that the rest of the arc is also a complete dumpster fire, regardless of Kaido.
