Gap between Goku and Gohan @ Cell Games

Why wouldn't Cell raise his power to a level that would really hurt him?

I don't see it that way. It's not like he's necessarily hitting Gohan at full-speed.

When he raised his speed, he used it to catch Gohan:

Me and ahill had a long discussion about this awhile back. I just think the attributes are separate to the point where one can choose to raise it whenever. That's why I always look at the Reacoom example to show that someone could increase it without their power having to change.

My bad, somehow I skipped over this in the midst of other posts. I'll concede that point, but I still think Cell could have powered up.

I agree one can raise it separately, but since Cell basically laughs at Gohan's attempt to get mad, saying "if you're going to get mad, get mad for real!" I think he has to be above Gohan in power.

I am not saying that's absolutely not the case, I even argued it with Evil Vegeta, in a debate you even said you were on his side, might I add. I find it unlikely based on Cell's wording and on another instances where speed is clearly separated from power.
