I see. But I think Toriyama is giving much attention to Piccolo in arrival of Trunks.

I don't really think mentioning Piccolo before Vegeta means that he's getting way more attention. Goku's likely not thinking too hard about it, especially seeing as how he's just casually suggesting that Vegeta or Piccolo's boosts since the last time he saw them are essentially SSJ-esque.

I don't see what there is to suggest that the status-quo from the Freeza arc changed between the two of them.

Both seemed to be mentioned equally to me.

Piccolo was stated to be training endlessly every day and Bulma said Vegeta was going off at night to train.

So Piccolo certainly isn't outdoing Vegeta in any area from what I can see.

Piccolo's been an ally longer than Vegeta as well. It'd be more likely for him to be sticking his neck out than Vegeta.

1) Only Piccolo and Vegeta said to have been training like crazy
2) Vegeta immediately compliments Piccolo as a warrior for suppressing early
3) Piccolo and Vegeta possibly beating Freeza.
4) Piccolo's willingness to fight Vegeta
5) Piccolo's dominance shown throughout the telling of the Androids story

Piccolo is portrayed as a a badass mofo in the Trunks Saga. All subjective, all opinion, but god damn I'm a give him some credit actually and picture this the only time Vegeta vs Piccolo would have been a badass fight of epic proportions.

In general in most arcs, the supporting characters close the gaps from the previous sagas massive gaps.

Agreed p123; I was about to do this lol. But as Super Saiyan said Vegeta should still hold the edge. But I agree, Piccolo most likely closed a lot the gap. If they fight Vegeta would still win but I think Pikkoro would put up a hell of a fight if he is willing to brawl with Bejita.

Yep, essentially Piccolo w/ Nail's assimilated, becomes way too much for Base Saiyan power, yet he's now regaining his old placement except among Super Saiyans.

It's debatable. I usually go with no, but then what? Is Piccolo way stronger than Vegeta now?

How do you justify Gohan's confidence against the Androids? That he didn't sense Vegeta?

As for Future Piccolo, I guess he just never got the huge increases that Present Piccolo didn't since he didn't have a Super Saiyan as a training partner.

Yep, no other way. He had to not be aware of their power. Piccolo being under Base Vegeta after all those years seems quite ridiculous. Piccolo being way stronger than Vegeta is crazy as well.

I suppose it's possible, no one in the present was aware Vegeta was a Super Saiyan until he showed it against #19.

Yea its a terrible situation. Just going with the option that sucks less, clearly no power structure was considering during this bit.
