It wouldn't be pointless because that's his starting point. That's how we know where he started.

Skyrocketing would not mean 40k imo. Skyrocketing was literally never used before to say how much someone's power was increasing. We heard words like rapidly, but skyrocketing is on a completely different level. 60k minimum imo.

85,000 is way, WAY too high. Y'all are forgetting that Oozaru Gohan (100,000) tail slapped Goku right out of Kaio Ken. I wouldn't put Goku any higher than 45,000.

Yeah, Oozaru Gohan > Kaio-Ken Goku is clearly shown. Goku is anywhere around 31k-40k in my opinion.

Elaborate... Also the subs for the movie also use the term "raising rapidly" meaning that the word "skyrocketing" doesnt necessarily means in Japanese what it means in English

Anyway, going from 30k to not far from 40k is logical in this saga too...
