He did appear in the manga, but his role was just extended from what he did in DBS:SH.

Both were okay, DBS Broly is better. Real Life Stage Play Broly is the best

Probably Z Broly, concept-wise. Ultimately, what draws attention to his character -- across the board -- is the chaotic fights he gets into, which he often dominates. The way his potential is described, it's hard to imagine how being part of a team wouldn't lead to everyone else getting collectively overshadowed if that portrayal doesn't wane. I think villainy works better. Enjoyed Super Broly's fights more though.

Movie Broly's character was weaker because he had even worse motives than notoriously faggoty villains like Aizen, Enishi and Obito. Broly as a concept works better as a villain though, although Z Broly's character was too one-dimensionally villainous. A tortured soul falling prey to his own destructive urges that stem from his upbringing and Legendary SSJ transformation works better than an evil, sadistic manchild obsessing because a low class baby defeated him by crying loudly in a crib 30 years prior.

Super Broly just bores me. He doesn’t work as a main story antagonist. Maybe it’s just the execution that was lacking but him raging out has no real tension which made the rest of the movie just an empty hype fest. I think if we saw him cause genuine harm to the planet to the point of causing casualties than it would have hit much more.

Z Broly isn’t any better in character writing but at least he has genuine presence and aura to him. It’s more terrifying that he’s a self aware psychopath than simply losing control sporadically.

Badass one liners > RAAAAAAAAHHH!
