That's his character. It's over-exaggerated at the start of the manga.

She was alright for the first few arcs. She does indeed become annoying and one-note with her obsession over treasure though, especially after the timeskip when she starts dressing slutty for no reason.

That simply seems to be the direction Alda is going with female characters. Even Robin seemed to age 10 years after the 2 year gap despite being 28.
