Can this really be coincidence? Not to mention Oda stated something along the lines of a lurking legend being present in Wano. There was also the house that appeared to be defying gravity in recent chapters. Hmmm... Ignoring the horrendous film which was non-canon, Shiki has been loose for 22 years according to chapter 0. Do you guys think he could appear?

^Moved post since it doesn't directly pertain the most recent chapter.

I'd say it's a possibility, since Shiki will definitely be used at some point in the story with how Oda bothered to make mention of him in the manga and give him focus in the Chapter 0 special. Whether or not the living legend in Wano is Shiki is pretty arguable, seeing as how assuming he's the guy drinking with Crocus he'd have to have gotten to Wano before Luffy when the route from Whiskey Peak would've obviously taken far longer than the Straw Hats' starting point. I wouldn't say it's completely out of the question, seeing as how the Straw Hats' journey pace was slowed down by constant battles, but it would seem to still be an unlikelihood logistically.

The pieces do add up, so I'd say it's still a possibility. I do have doubts when it comes to the hairstyle, seeing as how Oda would probably like to keep Shiki's more distinctive design intact. Regardless, the figure is still likely someone important to the Wano plot such as one of Roger's crew or an ally of Oden.

But their journey was delayed by 2 full years during the time skip. He would have more than enough time unless I'm misunderstanding this. Wano would also be the perfect place for him to hide out for 20 years and put his plans in place. He even said in 0 he would return in 20 years.

While I agree the title page could be one of the possibilities you mentioned, having the exact same colour scheme is too coincidental imo. He also be like 70 years old so the hairstyle change is reasonable.

There is some compelling evidence here, but I also think its just as likely that it's one of the two options you listed.

The chapter cover he appeared in was after the timeskip though, during the events of the Fishman Island Arc.

Still seems a bit drastic of a change for 2 years, given his Movie 10 design ought to at least be canon for the pre-timeskip era due to Oda's involvement. If he's still able to maintain the colour, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to maintain it's growth.

True point on the chronology. Regardless, wouldnt it be fair to assume that whoever that is in the cover story is a wano resident? It seems likely to me that they will feature in this portion of the story, or else it seems very random. If they are not there currently then I'm sure they will show up at some point.

And to counter the design change, it could be for purposes of changing his identity in order to remain undercover. While the attire is contradictory to that.. the Wano hat and hair change line up with that.

In any case we know it is someone acquainted with Crocus, so I think it's about 50/50 between Shiki and a Roger's Pirates crew member.

I can agree to him showing up at some point. I simply find the likelihood of him already being there to be questionable.

Whilst that would make for an explanation, I have to question how well a guy with two blades for legs and a steering wheel in his head is going to be able to go undercover.

Speaking of which, wouldn't Shiki's notorious injury make it far less likely for him to be the man Crocus was drinking with, given it would make wearing a hat a nuisance and have it elevated quite a fair bit above his head if so?

I will half concede given that anything else I could counter with pushes further into the realm of speculation and conjecture. However given that it's been 20 odd years, those parts of his design could have been altered as well.

While I agree it doesn't seem likely for it to be him, I cant get past the identical outfit.

But I suppose we will have to wait and see.

Yeah, that's it.

I made it a point to at-least read around 20 chapters a day but haven't really been able to stay true to that (I did at first).

Yeah, it's a commitment but the more the better. It's frustrating to read through One-Piece in a fast pace to me (which I sometimes have to) because I want to perfectly understand everything and remember everything, instead of just a rough memory of what happened, but sometimes I have to rush through.

Kaidou's entrance when Jack was battling that samurai was great. Didn't know he can turn into a Dragon.

Yeah that was badass. I feel like he would be easier to beat in his Dragon form than his Human form though

They will take him down a la AoT
