I watched a long time ago. Forgot a-lot, so yeah.

Both kind-of actually l0l. I read the manga first and then the anime for the corresponding chapters. Some things I find hard to understand (either because of translation problems or not knowing who said what).

If you wanna pretty accurate translations, search for MangaSee. Those are official VIZ translations and can't be messed up to the point of difficulting understanding. Or are you not reading in English?

I concur. The translation of other sites after Alabasta are fine though, aside from no fanslation getting Oars' name right at the time. Still, Viz is probably the most accurate outside of some creative liberties taking in dialogue and assuming you can get past Zoro being given his 4kids name of Zolo.

They translated it as Zoro for the first two volumes' first edition (changing it for the Vizbig edition) but changed it to Zolo thereafter to fit with his mistranslated name in the 4kids dub that was airing at the time. Funimation's dub also had it as Zolo for the tv airings of the anime as to not confuse those that had been watching the series on tv, though call him Zoro in the dvds of the series.

Damn, so the 4kids actually mistranslated a character's name? Shows how accurate their work are supposed to be.

It could be that they didn't want people to get confused with the far more internationally famous Zorro, though a dumb move nonetheless in the long run.

True. Zolo seems also strange when you try to voice it.

Do you guys get Fujitora's reason for not battling Doflamingo? Not sure I get it.

Yeah, getting through Alabasta from where I was reading from was a-bit tough I think I think.

ahill1 Considering one of Fujitora's main motivations is to disband the Shichibukai system, He wanted to show the hypocrisy currently going on within the World Government and show to the populous the flaws of the system.

I wonder who this is now that we can tell it isn't Kawamatsu. It is clearly Wano attire.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be Shiki but, if so, why wouldn't he have appeared in Wano thus far, or fought Kaido for that matter?

I think it has to be based on appearance, but it strikes me as odd that he would be on good terms with Crocus. The only person on the Roger pirates with hair of that length is Gaban, but he has black hair.

Perhaps it has to do with his plans. He said he would wait patiently for 20 years for his plans to unfold iirc. Maybe he is laying low and will strike during the war. It would seem rather unnecessary with 2 Yonko already at Wano.

Well, WB was on good terms with Roger despite their rivalry and Shiki seemed extremely pissed off at the Marines for capturing Roger. Could be he had a lot of respect to Roger and his crew as rivals, or kindled some friendship with them after Roger's death.

Considering the chapter was used to advertise the Strong World film, I think that's definitely what he was referring to. I hope not and Oda makes it clear the film is non-canon, since a Yonko tier veteran losing to a pre-timeskip Gear 3rd Luffy just because he was amped up by a lightning bolt is fucking embarrassing :cena

I read through most of East Blue again.. it is sad that such a mediocre arc is far better than anything that part 2 has offered. The Arlong arc at least offered some tension that felt real, and key growth and moments for most of the Straw Hats. Going to read through the rest of part 1.
