Got a Togepi with perfect nature from Cynthia. I might swap Staravia/Staraptor with that eventually as I already have many physical attackers. Haven’t gotten to Ralts yet or had the chance to get a ground type.

Platinum requires a wifi event item to transform it but HGSS does not iirc

But yeah it's only worth if you can transform it

I'd say keeping Staraptor might be best since levelling up Togepi to the same extent will take a lot of time and you don't get a shiny stone to evolve it into Togekiss until Iron Island (which requires you to have beaten the first 5 Gym leaders).

Yeah, not without the mystery gift or a way of hacking it in. Rotom's typing doesn't change until Gen 5 from form change anyway, so it's far less useful in Gen 4 than it'd be in later gens.

I'll take your advice. Currently have it in my party with a Soothe Bell so by the time I get to the 5th gym I should be able to have a lv. 2 Togekiss

Will probably try it out once I've beaten the gyms/game.

Switching Gyarados for Empoleon again. Not a fan of Gyarados' learnset as it levels up. Literally no water attacks.

He learns Aqua Tail and Hydro Pump in the 30-40 level range.

Gyarados can learn Surf and has better coverage than Empoleon due to Ice Fang, so it's better in the long run. If wanting to use Empoleon for the time being until you get Surf though, that's understandable.

If possible, otherwise keep cancelling evolution when it tries to become Gardevoir. You can find one on Route 212 once you reach Pastoria City, at which point Kirlia will probably be on the cusp of Level 30 if you've been using it regularly.

Be sure to hit up the move relearner in Pastoria to get Gallade some nice moves you might want for type coverage, like Leaf Blade and Night Slash

Yeah, Leaf Blade will be pretty good coverage for later on. Night Slash I'd say you can do without when Luxray will already cover the physical Dark moves with Crunch, as will Hippowdon if also learning Crunch.
