I think some of you just need to stop reading one piece. I just don't think it's the series for you anymore.
That's not really much of an option if you've put in enough commitment to read almost 900 chapters. Thinking critically and having high standards for series doesn't mean we hate the series, only that (many) aspects of this arc fall short by far compared to previous ones.
Each of his gear 4th forms have emphasized an attribute. Bound was strength
Boundman already offered a massive increase in speed as well so unlike with the stat distribution that Gear 2nd and 3rd had going, it felt far more of a fusion of the two rather than emphasising one stat in particular. The form in general would've had far more of an impact and less contrived uses had Boundman been the only mode.
Snakeman is a a gear 4 that emphasizes speed, it's not just an upgraded version of gear 2nd.
Except Gear 2nd also emphasises speed. Whilst the attack boost is still apparent, it's general abilities and the usage of it against Blueno display the speed boost as it's main drawing point.
He's still massively stronger than his base form. He's actually hurting katakuri now. When most of the first part of the fight was hardly even landing blows
He was already capable of blocking some hits from him last chapter in his base form.
And obviously the reason to use gear 2nd and 3rd is that gear 4th has a massive weakness that leaves him incredibly vulnerable after a short time.
Didn't become a major detriment when he used it against Cracker or when he was taken out of the form by Katakuri and just like with the drawbacks of Gear 3rd, whatever weaknesses were displayed in Dressrosa will gradually be remove moreso than they've already been by him improving his Haki, making his lower Gears worthless. If he's already capable of using it twice in two fights, there's no reason to use lesser versions of his power up.
