Oh yes, suspended animation is so much better than time travel.

It is. It doesn't ruin continuity or act as anywhere near as major a plot convenience. It also has far more ties to past events with the implication of Aokiji's Ice Time Capsule, whereas such a major plot device as time travel came out of nowhere with only some very loose prior evidence to be used as implications.

Well, guess that kills off any theories people had of Dragon being able to become a literal Dragon.

Honestly expected something grander from someone who's supposed to be the "Master of Beasts" such as a Typhon, but I guess a dragon's fitting with the Japanese setting. I would've expected it to be that of Orochi's due to his name, however, but I guess he'll be given something like a Hydra Mythical Zoan fruit.

Assuming he's indeed based on the Huanglong, perhaps, though if the inspiration is merely that of a Ryujin it still stands that there would be more fitting ideas to represent the idea of "Master of Beasts". Perhaps some inspiration from Typhon will crop up in his hybrid form though.

Kaidou isn't from Wano as far as we know, thus it would be fitting in his role as an invader of the country.

Did anyone else catch that the other 2 of the 3 calamities were revealed in chapter 920? I can’t say I’m a fan of their designs lol.

Yeah. From the silhouettes, they looked better than most of the more recent character designs at least, though they're not exactly high tier on the design scale. It's too early to really say from just a silhouette though.

So, Luffy decides not to use Gear 4th to attack Kaidou as though he thinks Gear 3rd would actually do anything? I could understand if Kaidou's power were some recent discovery, but after having heard of the Yonkos' hype for two years and actually facing one just days before?....

Other than that, the chapter was OK. I wasn't bothered by Kaidou being presented as slightly goofy when drunk, given the monsters and Gods of the mythology as he's partly inspired on aren't always the best at holding their liquor.

Chapter was pretty good. However, it further reinforces how big of a gap there is between Kaido and Luffy/Law. Imo his dragon form is a mountain that I cant see either of them ever usurping without some BS weakness/power-up. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Seeing him blow up the ruins and show how massive his form actually is was pretty dope.

Hopefully 923 is released. Have a feeling Luffy is gonna get a wake up call soon. Either that or his G3 punch will kill Kaido and he'll become the pirate king.
