Kaido confirms that G5 is coated with both Haoshoku and Busoshoku. Aside from that I'm not sure how to feel about Luffy's powers yet. They definitely seem to be taking a large toll on him but at the same time his resolve allows him to keep using that form.

How exactly does one coat himself around Haoshoku? I thought that was more of a "knocking out people way below me with kingly will" type of thing? Is it basically like God Ki of the OP verse now?

Yeah only the top tiers are able to do it, plus Yamato and Zoro.

It could also be that Zoro is simply among the top tiers now. He gained Advanced Haoshoku after already having wounded Kaido with regular Haoshoku, so we don't really know how strong he is now as he has been knocked out.

Yeah I assume it's meant to be invisible now. His new form is meant to be completely white like a cartoon.

Can't Zoro have been using Haoshoku when he wounded Kaido? I don't think Kaido would be surprised with that when many relevant warriors have the basic Haoshoku. Don Chinjao had it. Would he make a point to express it with surprise if it were merely Haoshoku usage and not the advanced stuff?

Chinjao was a legendary pirate who fought Garp, he's not a nobody. Haoshoku appears common because we've seen it from many pirates, but remember how rare it was stated to be among the entire population of the One Piece world. Zoro's Asura used Haoshoku, but there's no question that it lacked all characteristics seen when Haoshoku is coated. Asura could well be an Advanced type of it as it allows Zoro to manifest himself 3 times, which is clearly beyond the scope of regular Haoshoku. Even still, that isn't the same as coating.
