I don't even know why they bother teasing Vegeta's fights anymore. Ever since he got stomped by Moro in the last arc it's become painfully obvious that he'll never be the one to get the kill.

Chapter 73 - Goku VS Granolah

The chapter opens with Goku rushing Granolah, who is sniping blasts at him.Goku dodges each one before aiming his own attack at Granolah, who also manages to dodge and fly away, leading Goku to a forest. The two make chase, with Goku in pursuit firing attacks. Granolah dodges each one before swinging out of sight and catching Goku in a kick from behind and sending him through trees.Goku manages to grab a brand and hit the ground, right as Granolah rushes at him with a punch, which he blocks in a painful guard. Finally, Goku manages to land his own hit on Granolah, knocking him back into a tree. Granola kicks Goku in the face as more of the forest is destroyed in their fight. Goku then powers up and a section of the broken forest is sent skyward in a blast.

Granolah halts and notes Goku’s blood and cell movement changed. He must have activated his evasive maneuvers, the same as when he had the red hair. Goku says that Blue’s Ultra Instinct won’t be so easy.

Goku then vanishes behind Granolah, Granola tries blasting him with beams several times but Goku moves out of the way. Each time Granolah aims his sniping shot, Goku manages to dodge it. Finally, Goku charges at him with a kamehameha and fires point blank range in the chest. Even Oil is thrown back by the force of the explosion, which can be seen from the area Vegeta had gone to.

Back with Granolah, he’s lying on the ground scuffed up and out of breath. Goku too has collapsed onto the ground and back into his normal state. Granola stands and calls out that everything Goku’s throwing at him is useless. He should give up.

Granola says he’s here he’ll destroy the Saiyans just as they had done to his family. Without warming he uses his power to raise up the ground under Goku and causes a huge blast of energy to propel him up into the sky. Even the townspeople nearby noticed the explosion outside the colony. As the blast continues up, Goku manages to teleport away and over to Vegeta’s location in the ruins.

In clear pain, Goku notes Granolah’s using a technique similar to that of Moro. Vegeta points out that Goku is struggling. Goku says his abilities and strength are ridiculous, he’s gonna do his best. Goku then asks what this place they’re in is and Vegeta responds saying he knows that guy’s identity.

Vegeta says he heard there was once a race of people in this universe with a right eye that specialized in sniping. Freeza had used the Saiyans to destroy them. The ruins here are likely the remains of an invasion from back then. Vegeta deduces that Granolah must be that race’s survivor and that they’ve been duped by Maki. Despite being found out, Oil says it’s too late to go back.

Vegeta is surprised Goku wants to go back out there, but Goku reassures he’s yet to use his full power Ultra Instinct. Vegeta can’t believe it’s come to this.

Back with Granolah, the smoke from his attack clears and Goku has arrived in his Ultra Instinct form. Granolah is shocked because he can’t see his vitals so he asks what that form is. Goku explains that it’s the completed Ultra Instinct, and because the time left in this form is short he’s going to finish this all at once. Goku then kicks Granolah in the face causing his eye piece to come free and then kicks him away again. Sent flying through the air, Granolah is further struck by Goku and lands back down in the cleared forest area.

Goku approaches Granolah again and asks him to listen to him, so that he won’t have to fight for nothing. But Granolah doesn’t want to listen, instead he charges at Goku but Goku catches his arm before he can strike. Goku tosses him through the air but Granolah spins around and tries to attack again but Goku dodges. Again and again Granolah attacks to no success. Finally, Goku stops him mid attack and holds him suspended in the air. He then sends a series of kiai at Granolah and pushes him into the face of a mountain.

Vegeta, watching from afar, notes this must be the end, irritated that Kakarot ends up taking everything. Vegeta then realizes that Granolah’s power isn’t decreasing like he expected. He notices something over by the mountain.

Goku approaches Granolah once again, who says the Saiyans being this strong is beyond his expectations. Goku too is surprised with Granolah’s strength and wants him to tell him how he trained.

Granolah says it’s he who seems to have underestimated the Saiyans and Goku says that even though this is the end, why not train and fight again? You don’t seem like a bad guy. Eyes closed, Granolah says not to get him wrong, when did he say that he lost?

“I said I made a mistake by underestimating you”, says Granolah as he gives Goku a confident look. He continues to say that he shouldn’t have split his power to begin with. Goku looks confused as he has no idea what Granolah is talking about. Granolah then makes it clear to Goku that the Granolah he sees in front of him isn't really him. He continues to explain as he says “I split the power from my prime body… into this clone. This is just an illusion.” The clone disappears.

Just then, Vegeta finds out the source of what he noticed earlier. He found a spaceship in the mountains and the one sitting inside it, was Granolah. As Vegeta looks away to call Goku and inform him about the prime Granolah’s location, the Granolah in the spaceship disappears!

Goku, who let his guard down, was hit by Granolah’s attack on his chest which reverted him to his normal state. Goku receives serious damage in his chest as Granolah sends him flying. Goku has been knocked out for good, his pupils disappear too.

Granolah walks towards Goku and says he wanted to save his strength for the upcoming battle with Freeza which is why he let a clone take out the Saiyans for him. It was a good way to buy some time as he knew the “silver-haired” transformation’s accuracy would decrease with time.

After hearing about Granolah’s strategy, Vegeta enters the battlefield and challenges him for a duel. Granolah wants to finish the job with Goku, but Vegeta stands in his way. He says it is now his turn to fight Granolah. Granolah doesn’t mind who comes first, as that’ll only change the order of their deaths. Vegeta replies to him with a confident look, saying that it’s him who’s gonna die. “If you’re after the Saiyans to destroy them, I’ll do everything in my power to get rid of you. Prepare for your destruction, Cerealian.”, says Vegeta as the chapter comes to a close.

The narrator teases fans for Ch74 and states: Vegeta isn’t someone to take lightly!! From here on out, it’ll be a ‘kill or get killed’ situation!!

Blue Evolved has a better reputation at this point. At least that helped defeat Toppo in the anime and doesn't rely on the "muh stamina" drawback that plagues every single form other form.

This late for you? To me, it was obvious ever since he managed to get himself killed when he had Freeza beat, after Goku weakened the guy for him, mind you!:alex2

This nigga granolah is a retard. He had multiple chances of killing Goku but he wastes it talking about muh race in shiet. Also why is granolah wasting time with using a clone to kill Goku when he could have just use his full power to kill Goku and Vegeta when he ambushed them ?

Because he's a moron. An inconsistent, chattering moron through whom Toyotaro spouts out a flimsy excuse to justify why a driven, vengeful antagonist is dicking around when he literally has no good reason to.

It speaks volume on how awful this arc already is that I just want a fight in Dragon Ball to be over in the next chapter and get back to the Heeters.

Awesome chapter. I love how Goku is using regular Super Saiyan Blue because it's such an efficient form. I love how Granola asks about Galu's blue hair and then immediately tells him that he doesn't care. I love how Vegeta is suddenly talking about extermination again after supposedly feeling the immense burden of the actions of all Saiyans. I also loved the choreography of Galu vs Granola. Possible rival for Goku vs Super 17 for the best fight in the franchise.

Easily the best chapter of Super yet. No anime or manga is better than this right now.

I had my hopes too high for Tracetaro and :troll . AT did say a short time after BoG that he was thinking of giving Vegeta the main role, and they did tease it for a bit when he outshined Galu for one chapter with Spirit Fission, plus it seemed in line with AT's prerogative of keeping Galu under Beerus and Whis to keep him from achieving MUI for real as long as possible. Little did I know, the manga would retcon Beerus' power hardocre just like Toei did, making Galu achieving MUI and supposedly getting to a level Hakaishin couldn't reach pointless... :alex2 :alex2

Vegeta trying to piss off Granolabar is actually a callback to when Beerus did that to him for the ~DESTRUCTION~ method.

Curious how they'll get around Vegeta being able to Hakai Granola.

Another awesome chapter!
For those saying UI is useless... would you REALLY want me to AUTOMATICALLY win every single fight now? :/
That'd be super boring...
Also won't matter if the opponent's power is way higher anyway, cause eventually speed alone is enough to get around it.
