I don't think Hisoka took Gon seriously. Even after gaining quite a lot of strength through the Greed Island and gaining even more at the Chimera Ants, Gon seems to be below Hisoka, at least his base power (Adult Gon would obviously **** Hisoka).

Even if Gon isn't that strong at the moment, Hisoka can see Gon's potential and entertains a fight with him in the future (his analogy with the fruit becoming mature)

I'd say Gon base got close to Hisoka at the end though.
