I disagree. Power scaling and gaps are an important factor in a series like Dragonball and many other fighting shonen like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Fairy Tale, etc.

Consistent power scaling, yes. Gaps for feat minimums and the like on the other hand are a completely fan-based aspect that have little to no bearing on the events in a series.

No, but that's what we're given to work with, especially with the Farmer being at 5 making it clear Toriyama's treating that as a benchmark for average humans. To contradict that because "muh levelz are moar accurate!" would be clear headcannon and not working with what material you're given. You'd essentially be arguing about some imaginary version of the series if you were to do so.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if he sat down and thought about it, he wouldn't use the same exact numbers. Why do you think Saiyan Arc Piccolo and Enraged Gohan are almost the same? Piccolo said Gohan would surpass him if he put his mind into it, and he is rather surprised when Gohan kicks Nappa to the face and knocks him down.

Still surpassed him though. I also don't find Piccolo's reaction to outright show Gohan was far above him, as it could be more due to the sudden burst in power and change in personality compared to previously.

Don't you think Perfect Cell should've been 3x Vegeta or so? I mean he was confident on deflecting/blocking Vegeta's Final Flash (And he probably expected to be about the same amp as Piccolo's Gekiretsu Kodan) and while gaps are consistent, i don't really think you can deflect a blast much stronger than you.

Seems rather dumb from Cell's part to think Vegeta can't amplify the power of his blasts as much as Piccolo can.

I don't see why based on what data he had. Back in the Saiyan Arc, Vegeta's best attack could only bridge the gap between he and Kaioken x3 Goku, whereas Piccolo was already capable of more than tripling his power with his trump card.

I think the Final Flash should be stronger is all. Or Cell is just completely incompetent.

Cell should be able to sense what Piccolo has charged up. He takes the blast head on and is fine.
