I guess it depends on the SSj-Grade-III boost then.Schutzstaffel said:Not well above if you have Trunks > 50% Goku imo.Fantastische Hure said:Wouldn't 40% still be well above Vegeta before the Cell-Games? I know it seems like I'm just arguing semantics now, but if Piccolo was also so far above Vegeta like Goku was, wouldn't he consider Piccolo highly too? At-least to an extent.Schutzstaffel said:Yeah, I personally prefer Piccolo around 40% of Goku in order to make sense of that, but I also don't think Vegeta thought Goku showed his full power - as it's kind of dumb to lay all your cards on the table before the final showdown.
Something like:
Gr 2 Vegeta: 100
Gr 3 Trunks: 200
50% Galu: 150
Piccolo: 120
What'd you say, though? Like what's your opinion? Do you have an opinion on it?sei'taer said:The only thing that gives piccolo any credit at all is that he's still standing at the end of the cell jr fight. That's about all.
As other's have said, it's pretty ambiguous if cell was referring to all the cell jr's or just the ones fighting the scrubs. And since as soon as he tells them to go all out gohan transforms we'll never know.
Piccolo was left-out on more than one occasion, though I think that's established enough to not have him close to either Trunks or Vegeta.HUEBR_Tapion said:Piccolo wasn't considered helpful because Goku knew Cell was holding back a massive amount of power. Do you think that Vegeta and Trunks, who were 60-66% of Goku would help either? The answer is no obviously.
Also, Cell's quote proves absolutely nothing. Read what he said carefully;
Look closely. Vegeta or Trunks are barely fighting evenly.
He is merely telling what is happening to the readers. He is not saying "Only Vegeta and Trunks are fighting evenly." Also, the use of the "or" there suggests he is probably leaving someone out of the list.

There's nothing that prevents him from being close to either Trunks or Vegeta.
We don't know whether Piccolo held his own, though. He was literally only standing for like one time. How don't we know the Cell Jr. was using him as a punching-bag?ahill1 said:I don't think the Cell Juniors were playing with Vegeta, Trunks or Piccolo, there's no reason they'd hold back to a level that these three could hold their own imo.
As for Piccolo, he wasn't giving the mini Cells the same fight Vegeta and Trunks were, but he still was strong enough to be a challenge. A couple of steps behind Veggie and Torankusu works well.

Why would AT write 2 statements like that, if Piccolo was in-fact close to them?
I assume because Piccolo was still obvious leagues ahead of the humans, so to show the difference between everyone (humans) and Piccolo, Piccolo was left standing (but not doing anything).HUEBR_Tapion said:Fantastische Hure said:Except author intent.HUEBR_Tapion said:There's nothing that prevents him from being close to either Trunks or Vegeta.![]()

Akira Toriyama also drew Piccolo standing against the Cell Jrs thrice.
Why would he draw everyone else on the ground, except Piccolo, Vegeta and Trunks if Piccolo was still fodder to the Cell Jrs?
:d

Tenshinhan was standing, too though.ahill1 said:Fantastische Hure said:We don't know whether Piccolo held his own, though. He was literally only standing for like one time. Piccolo being shown standing after the Cell Juniors assault, not looking much worse than Vegeta and Trunks (if at all) is enough to conclude he held his own. By holding his own I don't mean evenly exchanging blows like Vegeta was, but enough to provide a bit of a challenge.
In your opinion why was Cell only saying that Vegeta & Trunks barely were fighting evenly, then? Seems like the Cell Jr.s had a clear edge according to Cell.Papasmurf said:I think the Cell Jr.s were only slightly stronger than Trunks and evenly matched with Vegeta, so they were going all-out to deal the damage they dealt (which wasn't much to Veggie/Trunks).
Well, Tenshinhan tried to do something, though. Piccolo was doing almost nothing, just standing.ahill1 said:Tenshinhan was only shown trying to uselessly punch the Cell Junior, and when Gohan went bersek he was already in the ground just like the other humans and tired Goku, unlike Piccolo, who was still shown on his feet like the other two SSJs.
