Are the Lord of Lords/Supreme Kai intended to be the top deity in the franchise at that point? The way he's introduced and Piccolo's subsequent dialogue and internal monologue make him seem like he's at the very top
They were useful in conceptualizing the difference in power between fighters (say the first big example of Goku, Piccolo and Raditz) which raises the stakes and heightens the tension as we feel that there is a big gap between them.
I think Toyotarou is incredibly talented. He works on a deadline and with story beats given to him by Toriyama so I doubt he has free reign to was write anything. Even so, he was never a professional mangaka or writer, so I think he's done incredible work considering that.
This might be another dislike for me. Not Cell Max entirely, but the fact that it feels like Cell's return was wasted potential. If they wanted a big Hirudegarn-esque monster they could have done it without Cell.
I wouldn't mind a follow up with a completed Cell Max from some nefarious...
