Freeza also put all the effort of his 70% self into his blast to the extent SSJ Goku couldn't simply intercept it with the intent of destroying Namek, yet was still able to limit the time the explosion took.p123 said:He put his full effort into it. His blast is probably intended to completely bust the planet. I think Vegeta is in a manic rage at the time and isn't thinking rationally.
I'd agree if not far things like the retcon of Piccolo's background and the humans' gains from Kami's training damaging consistency somewhat, not to mention a few dumb things like Raditz's ability to remove his tail as Goku said not being done the first time it was grabbed, or him not flying out the way of the Makankosappo the 2nd time. For consistency alone, I'd rank the Hunt for the Dragon Balls Arc as superior to it. Whilst the characters aren't as complex, they all have interesting qualities and flaws, are highly consistent, all relevant to the plot and some develop fairly well in the short arc.Fearless In Quarantine said:It just shows why Saiyan arc is one of if not the best arc of the franchise.
The translation of the dialogue for the Funi subs of the anime from episode 22 (around 15m5s) are: "Despite the fact that the Tenkaichi Tournament is something you have a festive time at with your friends." In other words, the context is on the Budokai being meant to be a fun time, yet Namu is overly serious.Super Saiyan said:Interesting.. Roshi more or less considers the Budokai to be a joke, yet he knows that the likes of Akkuman have won it before. Akkuman would one shot every 21st participant even if their powers were added together. Why would he consider it a joke?
