Lol a month. It would be laughable for Piccolo Daimao to need a month to exterminate civilization.

They probably don't want to damage the planet itself, considering they're sold to the highest bidders.

Raditz implies that Goku would have used the full moon to achieve the task, so that sounds unlikely.

That's not to say Raditz and co. would go about things in a similar manner though. This is further implied by Vegeta only no longer giving a shit about the damage to the planet after getting wrecked by KKx3 Galu, suggesting he was still mindful of keeping Earth mostly intact if possible until then.

I've yet to rewatch this one. For some reason I think it's the most talked one after Broly. I remember it had nice things such as Gogeta, although I didn't like how insecure Vegeta felt in his standing to Goku.

Vegeta's characterisation seemed fairly in-character, considering this is a Vegeta after he'd revealed his true feelings and regrets when fighting Galu, yet before his later developments in the Boo Arc.
Fusion Reborn is definitely one of the most solidly written of the Z films. Only major problems it has are Janemba having little to no character despite the potential for him and Veku's plot armoured durability against Janemba.

I used to never care for Janemba before watching this movie because he has no dialogue, but I think it makes sense when considering he's a creature that was created out of pure evil ki.

I found it funny how Vegeta does this badass entrance and pulls off some crazy tactical combat against Jenenba (faring even better than Goku did which I thought was nice), only to get completely beaten by a hand choking him for a few moments. C'mon, the prince deserves better.

Also, ahill, I'm curious as to why you didn't like Vegeta's emotion breakdown during the movie. Did you believe it was out of character or you just personally not fond of that aspect of his character?

Piccolo Daimao was also a manifestation of evil Ki, yet he still had some clear goals and Janemba had a sentient host he could've used for communication. It's pretty funny that Buu's Fury actually provides more to his character than the film did by giving him a backstory beyond being a random mass of evil Ki.
Speaking of its nature, it's also fairly random that his weakness is insults. Sure, pride is often considered a sin, but it's not treat as a very evil trait when those considered good on a cosmic level in DB can sometimes be as prideful and arrogant as their enemies. :wtf

Not as though that's anything new for DBZ films. :troll2
It probably worked better than having him somehow endure more than SS3 Goku did, though I suppose it could've been chalked up to Vegeta's typically insane durability had he lasted longer.

Daimao stems from an already intelligent being, but I understand what you're saying. It wouldn't hurt to have him say something here and there.

I don't even mind him being mute. Whilst Pure Boo wasn't the most fleshed out of characters, his actions still showed the kind of personality he had well. Janemba could've been the same, but the most that ended up shining through was his weakness and traits universal of DB villains such as being confident until someone stronger than them shows up.

The instance takes place pretty closely to Vegeta recognising Goku as better than him in canon, so I think he should have been more secure with his standing to Goku.

Can't remember exactly. Which form does Gotenks show off? I assumed it coincided with Vegeta returing to Earth for 1 day as that seems fitting. Granted that in canon Vegeta was still reluctant in fusing with Goku, but that had more to do with Goku holding back his SSJ3. He didn't show displeasure or grief from still lagging behind and him admitting to be fine with it chapters later makes the transition too sudden if Vegeta was still crying and breaking down over being Goku's inferior moments earlier. Idk tho, I can be mistaken.

It was around the time Piccolo was teaching the boys fusion because Goku was with Grand Kai and Vegeta was already dead.

Too bad we have absolutely zero info on when they started writing. Or how much knowledge of yet to be released chapters Koyama had during writing.

Anyway, seems like FP Cell is only >= SSJ Goku/Gohan :troll
