Future Trunks Saga (redux)

I've got one episode left on this box set. Episode 5 where Future Trunks and Gohan meet. My next box set is still in the mail, so I can only review one more until that arrives sometimes in the next week.

This is about Gohan's Episode and the debut of the GOAT right?

Episode 5: Future Trunks meets Gohan.

That all pretty much speaks for itself. Trunks wanted to meet Gohan and reminisced about being trained during the androids reign of terror. Nothing too interesting about this episode, although the two of them reuniting was somewhat touching.

He did flash back to Gohan dying at one point in the episode. Does this make History of Trunks canon now? Gohan's death was shot for shot, so I would assume so, yes?

Also got our first look at Zamasu. Goku is on the way to meet him, but they have not come face to face yet. Zamasu was just pushing a food cart like a flight attendant. Exciting introduction!

This is anime product aka Toei product where they had FreeZa in HFIL in Z anime but not in the Super. So take it as a grain salt. :Toei

Trunks also says he became a Super-Saiyan because Gohan died. In the manga he was already a Super-Saiyan before Gohan died.

I guess it could be said he was already a Super Saiyan here too, and it kind of turned on because he was angry. Or Trunks was just trippin' during the flashback. :what

Episode 6:

Time for ZAMASU!!!!!!

If there was ever a man who can make the process of serving tea look evil and maniacal, it's this guy. Of course right away he starts talking about how he has disdain for humans and that they are a mistake, so my curiosity about whether or not he is a bad dude is limited at best. Trunks meets 18 and spends some time staring at her ass, which I can appreciate. I think we all can appreciate that. 18 jokes that Trunks should reimburse her for killing Future 18, and he doesn't even try to barter money for sex. What gives???

Goku fights Zamasu who and made the green elf look like a chump using only SSJ. Not too surprising since he surpassed Kaioshin some time ago. Zamasu swears vengeance on Goku so, nope, he's definitely not evil.

EPISODE 7:

Vegeta trains Future Trunks!!! Now this is the stuff I want to see. Been a slow few episodes but I can get down with some Vegeta/Trunks time. Trunks pisses me of by teasing USSJ, my favorite form, and even though I know it's worthless I still wanted to see it in action. Instead he uses it to dupe Vegeta, and I'm pretty sure DBM did almost the exact same thing, only here Trunks didn't actually go into battle using it. Vegeta goes strait Blue and practices child abuse without a seconds thought. Good to see him taking an active role to get Trunks stronger. He actually gives Trunks some good advice about not just trying to beat black, but looking down the road to the next enemy, and the one after that. Not a great fight, but very enjoyable for reasons other than action. Vegeta, you've come so far...

Also MFW Trunks tells Vegeta to show him SSJ3:

Zamasu and Gowasu watch some primative Babari on another planet fight with each other. Zamasu doesn't like this and wants to wipe them out. Apparently, every creature that Zamasu doesn't like is a "human". Humans are humans. Saiyans are humans. Giant lizard men that are ten feet tall with orange scales are humans. Fuck it, he calls them all humans for no reason whatsoever. If there was ever a guy looking for an excuse to murder, it's Zamasu.

Side note: I still appreciate how much love SSJ2 gets during this saga.

Overall, Vegeta scores this episode 3 out of 10.

EPISODE 8:
All-chan wants to meet Goku and play. Goku, who finds the good inside of Vegeta, Freeza and Majin Buu, wants nothing to do with this innocent, squeaky China Doll and blows him off by lying. Our hero ladies and gentlemen!

Zamasu kills a Babari who tries to attack him and Gowasu. Gowasu scolds him by saying they could have just teleported out out of there, despite the fact that he did not bother to teleport them out of there. Zamasu has now committed straight murder in front of Gowasu's face but the show wants to continue on with the mystery that Zamasu might not be that bad of a guy. Who could be behind all this??????

Zamasu makes tea. Again. But it's not like the other episodes because this time it tastes like shit. Zamasu talks about wiping out humans for the sake of justice but Gowasu doesn't see anything wrong here. This Zamasu guy is the DBZ equivalent of Anakin Skywalker. He's always mad, hates people and enjoys killing but no one seems to catch on that he might have problems.

Goku, Vegeta and Trunks finally head to the future to see the wastelands.
