Also the line in the Daizenshuu is based on Gohan saying Goku gave him his power

The Daizenshuu shows the Original Manga next to it's panel, so it's referencing the original Manga not the Anime. Arguing that it's referencing the Anime is completely unsupported and contradicts what the Daizenshuu obviously tells us.

It tells us a whole bunch of weird shit, but it certainly doesn't say that it's reference to the Cell Games was a reference to the anime, especially when it has a Manga panel next to it's wall of text.
