How strong is current Trunks?

Perhaps but I would like them to make a bit of sense. Trunks going from Cell Junior level to over Vegetto by doing hardly, if any training makes no sense. Even Piccolo has the excuse of training with a Rusty Ultimate Gohan to get to that level.

Even if he did, like I said before he has no sparing partner or resources to get him to a higher level. He would just be doing basic push ups.

Watched preview, all I saw was Goku blocking some hits with a grin on his face. I don't see how that shows they are equal.

Goku still used SSJ against SSJ Trunks. That already tells use that he can finger flick anybody outside of God level. If you want to believe that Goku isn't equal with Trunks then this is what you get.

That doesn't explain Bulma implying that Trunks always had blue hair.

What I find most entertaining is that in the flashbacks from the previous episode he uses the old footage of Trunks with purple hair like wtf.

And it took Vegeta some 6 months or so to catch up and arguably surpass post-god Goku which is a billion times bigger gap than Goku/Vegeta and Ultimate Gohan.

Though, Piccolo's training gains has never been logical to begin with. Just look at the 3 year training in preparation for the cyborgs. Goku and Vegeta multiplied their powers a few times. Then comes big green Piccolo-sama in da house and multiplies his power hundreds of times. Imagine the gains Goku and Vegeta would get if they did the same kind of training Piccolo does. 1

Piccolo's gains are haxed because Porunga (being racist toward non-Namekians) secretly gives him steroids whenever he revives him. And if you'll notice all 3 of his revivals were wishes made on the Namek balls 1

Vegeta was trained by a God, so his increases are completely logical. Whis even stated that by normal training, he could never reach the realm of Gods.

Trunks is free to change his hair color whenever he wants.
