Goku became the #1 fighter between himself & Vegeta. Then Goku becomes the #1 after Kid Buu's defeat. Meaning it includes all and everybody. Because it states who specifically was above Goku at that time and it was only Kid Buu.

Vegeta is #2 between himself & Goku but is #3 overall.

Can you explain the process by which Goku went from being not #1 to #1? Last time I checked, all he did in that fight was demonstrate his power to Vegeta. There's not even any proof that he's stronger than Boo. He used the Genki-Dama to defeat Boo. Borrowed power.

The quote says nothing about "becoming #1", just that there could be no doubts after his defeat of Boo. It also says nothing about "in the universe". Just #1.

To me, it's pretty clear that all Vegeta's saying is that after Goku defeated Boo, there's no way he can claim to be #1 anymore (going along with various quotes from the fight).

Chief among them, the one where Vegeta explicitly uses the term #1 to refer to Goku, with the context being him accepting Goku's superiority over him, and why that is.

Between himself & Goku, Vegeta is #2. But this doesn't mean he's the #2 on Earth, just the #2 between himself and Goku because they are the only Saiyans.

Vegeta abandoned his rivaly with Goku and later states that Goku became #1 upon Buu's defeat. So rivaly has no influence on the statement. 'Upon' Buu's defeat meaning someone was stronger than him before, who? The only possible explination is Kid Buu, he conforms to this ideal 6 months later, even after living by Gohan for awhile.

So Goku is #1 and it's without a doubt. That doesn't leave room for the possibility of Gohan being stronger.

You can't have Goku be #1 in the universe, but not have Vegeta be #2 in the universe. That belongs in the dumpster next to Babidi's power protractor.

Vegeta admitting Goku was #1 and Goku becoming undisputed #1 had everything to do with their rivalry. How you can claim otherwise, I cannot fathom.

When comparing the two Saiyans, Goku is stronger & Vegeta is #2. When comparing Everybody as a whole, Goku is still #1. However this doesn't mean Goku is #1 in the Universe. Vegeta doesn't know what lies outside in the Universe.

Vegeta abandoned his pride in the Boo Saga, so the rivalry would therefore be non existent. This is prior to defeating Buu. So rivalry has no influence on anything past this point. Then Vegeta calls Goku the #1 upon defeating Buu -after establishing that he's over their rivalry and accepts Goku as better.

So clearly Vegeta talks about two different things. 1) Goku being the better between them. 2)Goku being the #1 on Earth.
